Yesterday in Aba, Abia State, we witnessed something truly inspiring at the Technovation Girls Southeast Regional Pitch Event 2026.

Young girls from across the Southeast region took center stage to present innovative technology solutions designed to solve real challenges in their communities after going through 12 weeks of leanring and building. From health and education to environmental sustainability and social impact, these brilliant young innovators demonstrated that gender and age is no barrier to creating meaningful change and impact in our society.

For months, these teams dedicated their time to identifying problems, conducting research, learning coding and entrepreneurship skills, building mobile applications, and refining their business ideas through our team of mentors at TechRookiesand other partner organisations. Yesterday was the culmination of that journey as they confidently pitched their solutions before judges, mentors, parents, educators, and technology leaders.

Beyond the competition, the event was a celebration of creativity, resilience, teamwork, and the limitless potential of girls from Southeast Nigeria in technology.

We are incredibly proud of every girl, mentor, volunteer, judge, and partners who contributed to making this event a success. The future of innovation is bright, progressive, and yesterday, we saw it firsthand.

To every girl who stepped onto that stage: your ideas matter, your voice matters, and your solutions have the power to transform communities.

The journey continues. The impact is only beginning.

At TechRookies, we are witnessing something powerful. Young girls (ages 8-16), curious, bold, and determined are stepping into the world of technology, not just as users, but as creators.
Through the Technovation Girls Project, these girls are asking real questions:
"What problems exist in my community?"
"How can I use technology to solve them?"

And with this incredible zeal, they are turning ideas into tech solutions, learning coding, design thinking, and entrepreneurship along the way.
This is more than just a program, It is a movement of young innovators rising with purpose.
From brainstorming sessions to late-night debugging, their passion is undeniable. They are not waiting for the future. They are owning and building it.

At TechRookies, we are proud to guide these young girls along this journey, where curiosity meets impact.

The future of tech is inclusive.
The future of tech is now.
And these girls are leading it.
