Seahorse Research and Training Institute successfully hosted a 5 day Training Course " Public Health and Health Promotion a Right based approach" training which conducted for Outright Namibia.
The Training was held for 5 days from the 19-23 October 2018. The training brought together 20 participants, officers and programme managers, representing 8 organisations affiliated with Outright Namibia. The following organisations were represented at the training; ORN, NAPPA, SFH, VHF, Afriyan, WTTN, YFem, RNRT, M-Power.
This is what participants said after completing the course:
“The importance of observing matters in our environment in a critical way and doing something no matter how slow”
“This course has influenced and changed my way of this thinking. I always thought public health was all about HIV/Aids, so now I know it’s much more than that
“Made me realize the gap between people who implement and those that work on the ground”.

Seahorse Research and Training Institute (SERTI) was founded in 2011 by Namibians, with the aim of strengthening the capacity of professionals in Governmental & Non Governmental local.
Our mission: SERTI is an institute that is innovative, diverse, creative and research driven, critical, self-sustaining and providing quality postgraduate education and service to local and international participants.
The Institute was created as a way of supporting the country's development and acknowledging challenges and opportunities facing the country. And providing opportunities to professionals to strengthen their capacity. Especially in line of the Namibian Parliament that passed a law in 2010 requiring that all registered health care professionals must earn a 30 continuing education units annual to maintain their registration with the Health Professional Councils of Namibia (HPCNA).
All the courses offered by SERTI are accredited with the HPCNA
