Harold Pupkewitz GSB to host hands-on public lecture on Artificial Intelligence in Finance

Staff Reporter

ARTIFICIAL Intelligence is already changing how banks approve loans, how investors forecast markets, and how businesses manage risk. These rapid advances are making it hard for the general public to keep up.

For that reason, the Harold Pupkewitz Graduate School of Business (HP-GSB) at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has scheduled a free public lecture on “AI in Finance” to take place at the HP-GSB in Windhoek on Wednesday evening. Organisers say it will be a hands-on session where attendees will learn, interact, and experiment with practical AI tools already reshaping decision-making, data analysis, and forecasting across industries.

"AI is no longer a future trend for finance. It is today’s operating system," HP-GSB said in a statement.

The lecture is scheduled for Wednesday from 17:30 to 19:30. It will unpack how the technology is driving innovation, cutting analysis time from days to minutes, and creating new career paths for those who know how to use it.

Attendance is free and available both in person and virtually.

Organisers say participants attending in person must bring a laptop, while online attendees should ensure they have a strong, stable internet connection to join live exercises and interactive demonstrations.
