Little feet, big dreams—we were all Team Dagbreek today! 🌟🏃🏽‍♂️
Our Athletics Fun Day was an absolute blast! From the cross-country and sack jumping to the wheelchair races and the much-anticipated teacher tug-of-war, today was all about celebrating different abilities, showcasing incredible talents, and having pure, unadulterated fun on the field.
A massive thank you to all the parents and families who came out to cheer, clap, and support our amazing learners. Seeing your energy and smiles means the world to our kids!
Different abilities, two teams (Team Red & Team Yellow!), and all fun—that’s what Team Dagbreek is all about! 💪❤️💛

HISTORY IN THE MAKING! 🌟🏆
We are absolutely thrilled to announce a monumental achievement at the Khomas Regional Science Fair. Zee-Anne from Dagbreek School has become the first learner with an intellectual disability to win a Gold Medal! 🏅✨
Zee-Anne competed in the Junior Primary Category and made history not just by participating, but by winning. Because of Zee-Anne’s incredible achievement and trailblazing spirit, the Organising Committee has announced that they will officially introduce a specific category for learners with intellectual disabilities in future competitions! 🫂❤️🙏🏽
Her groundbreaking project, which earned her the Gold, was titled: "Investigating preferred Textures among learners with Autism at Dagbreek Resource school."
Zee-Anne is a learner on the Autism Spectrum, and she has proven once again that DISABILITY DOES NOT MEAN INABILITY. 💪 She can do whatever she sets her mind to, just like any other child.
We are incredibly proud of Zee-Anne and her dedicated teacher, Teacher Emilia Shatipamba, for this incredible milestone. This is a massive leap forward for inclusive education, proving that true inclusion means creating space for everyone everywhere. 🌍📚

Dear Parents and Families,
We are excited to host our Career Fair and Market today and tomorrow from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the school hall.
It is very important for our learners to see the different career options available to them for life after Dagbreek. We also want to invite our parents and the community to come and see the amazing work our learners are doing.
While you are here, please stop to buy fresh vegetables, handmade goods and baked goodies created by our students. We hope to see you there!

The Dagbreek Running Team was invited by the National Disability Council of Namibia to
participate in National Disability Week, themed "Inclusive Namibia: Empowering Persons with Disabilities through Innovation, Accessibility and Opportunities for Equal Participation".
The week was about more than just events; it was a powerful celebration of inclusion and the potential of our athletes. We were deeply honored to have the Vice President of the Republic of Namibia, Hon. Lucia Witbooi, present to hand over our awards during the ceremony.
A massive congratulations to our champions:
•Petro Kooper: Best Sportsman with Disability
•Selma Doeses: Best Sportswoman with Disability
•The Dagbreek Running Team: Best Sports Team for Persons with Disabilities
Coach Lydia Matheus was truly humbled to accept the team award on behalf of the 21 athlete runners. Seeing them recognized for their hard work and dedication is what this journey is all about. We have moved intellectual disability out of the shadows and onto the elite stage, proving that disability does not mean inability. This is just the beginning, we are committed to breaking barriers and creating a future where every athlete has the opportunity to thrive!
