NQA at ProTVET IV Operational Planning Workshop

The Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA) is currently participating in a two-day Operational Planning Workshop on ProTVET IV, organised by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in collaboration with the Namibia Training Authority (NTA) and the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture (MEIYSAC).

The workshop focuses on strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Namibia by promoting quality education, skills development, and access to opportunities within the sector.

A key highlight for NQA is the call for the development of a National Policy on Micro-credentials, aimed at enabling flexible learning pathways and the continuous acquisition of skills and knowledge.

The workshop also emphasises the importance of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), ensuring that skills gained through informal learning are formally recognised, particularly benefiting women, youth, and marginalised communities.

The overall focus remains on skills development, production, and value addition as drivers of Namibia’s economic growth and empowerment.
