Despite the fact that the NSFP is habitually delivered late (to our region), we recognize the government’s commitment to providing it. This gesture deserves sincere appreciation, as it reflects a deep understanding of the link between nutrition and education. By ensuring that learners receive meals, the program not only supports their physical well-being but also enhances concentration, attendance, and overall academic performance. For many of our rural children, this initiative is more than just a meal—it is a source of hope, dignity, and equal opportunity. It cultivates a sense of responsibility in our learners as they stick to their routine of:

1. Washing 🧼 their hands 🙌 before they eat.
2. Washing their plates and rinsing them after the meal.
3. Washing of hands 🙌 again thoroughly before going back in the classroom at the designated class tipsy-taps.

Such an investment in young minds strengthens communities and builds a healthier teacher-parent relationship as they show up on a daily basis to help prepare the meals.

Although it is not a public holiday in Namibia 🇳🇦, it is widely celebrated socially and economically. It’s marked by 3 dominant colours: red, white and black.

Ongali JPS joined the celebrations on the 13th February 2026 as the main day has fallen into the weekend. We wish you and yours a happy valentines celebration.
