🏆 2026 Africa Youth Chess Championship – 17th Edition (U16 Girls) ♟️

Huge congratulations to Amelia 🥳🥳!
With a brilliant last-round victory, she finishes the tournament on an impressive 6/9 score. 👏🔥

This secured her a place in the Top 10.

Her hard work, determination, and fighting spirit have helped her fly the Namibian flag 🇳🇦 high with pride.

Pro-Ed Akademie - 'n skool met 'n verskil in Swakopmund

Even though school is out, it certainly hasn’t been quiet at PSS! 🌟

During the first week of May, our dedicated new Grade 11 students attended a structured Holiday School programme designed to support their successful transition into the Cambridge curriculum and to build a strong academic foundation from the very beginning. Subjects included Mathematics, Physics, and English. 📚✏️

Our Grade 10, 12, and 13 students have also been hard at work writing their Cambridge examinations, with some exams still continuing. We wish them every success as they continue this important academic journey — your hard work and dedication are inspiring! 🍀📖

Our young hockey players also made the most of the break during a 3-day hockey clinic, where they sharpened their techniques and developed valuable new skills on the field. 🏑

At the same time, our first team hockey boys and girls travelled to Stellenbosch and Cape Town for an unforgettable tour (see accompanying photos). They attended training sessions at Rhenish Girls' High School and Pinelands High School with outstanding coaches, and played exciting evening matches against Strand High, Pinelands High, Stellenberg, and Redam House. Along the way, they also enjoyed great food, special team moments, and unforgettable experiences. 🌍🏑

A special congratulations to Ezra Geiseb and Alecai G*y Van Pittius on receiving their 50-game caps — a wonderful achievement! 👏🎉
And of course, Ms Jan’s birthday was celebrated in style while on tour! 🎂🥳

All of this happened while our hardworking maintenance team ensured that the school grounds continued to shine, ready to welcome staff and students back on 2 June. 💙

🇳🇦✈️🇩🇪 Grüße aus Köln!

A group of our Grade 11 students, accompanied by Ms Grabowski and Ms Heydenrych, are currently enjoying an incredible Schüleraustauschprogramm (student exchange programme) in Köln, Germany.

The programme offers a wonderful balance of learning, cultural exploration, and enjoyment. From attending school and spending valuable time with host families, to exploring landmarks such as the famous Köln Cathedral, visiting museums, adventure activities, and experiencing German and Austrian culture firsthand — our students are making unforgettable memories while broadening their horizons. 🌍📚

Before reaching Köln, the group also had the privilege of visiting the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, exploring the campuses in Linz, Hagenberg, Steyr, and Wels.

We hope the tour continues to be filled with meaningful experiences, new friendships, and plenty of fun! 💙

FLASHBACK to the incredible weekend at the NAPSO/Securitas Private Schools Week hosted by Pro-Ed Akademie...
From start to finish, the event was exceptionally well organised and filled with energy, fun, and that special sense of community we love so much.
A massive highlight for us was seeing our beloved mascot, Sharky, spreading joy everywhere he went! He was hugged, high-fived, and adored by children (and big kids!) from schools all over. ❤️🦈
Huge thanks to Pro-Ed Akademie for the warm hospitality, beautiful facilities, and delicious variety of food 🍴. You created such a welcoming atmosphere where everyone felt included.
A big shoutout to all 16 participating schools for the fantastic sports, sportsmanship, and friendships that were built this week 🏑🏐🏉
