Mondesa Youth Opportunities MYO is an intensive afternoon schooling project, situated in the heart of Mondesa, Swakopmund.

Mondesa Youth Opportunities Trust (MYO) is a nonprofit, after-school enrichment programme in Swakopmund, Namibia. MYO runs formal classes for grades 4 to 8 and provides continued support for its alumni from grade 9 onwards.

Literacy is more than just the ability to read and write. It is the ability to understand, communicate, learn, think critically, and use knowledge and skills in everyday life.

At MYO, we believe literacy is everywhere. We celebrate learning across all subjects while creating opportunities for young people to grow, discover their talents, and build confidence.

As we celebrate literacy week every lesson, every skill, every game, and every young mind eager to learn.

Because every opportunity to learn is an opportunity to grow.

Back in action and ready for a strong finish!
Today marks the first day of our final term at MYO after the holidays. The classrooms are buzzing, the field is full of energy, and both our students and teachers are back and recharged for the weeks ahead.

Serving up something special! 🎾

​We are super excited to announce that we are officially back with Tennis at Mondesa Youth Opportunities.
Our learners are grabbing their rackets, and hitting the court and building focus, agility, and teamwork.

​Did you know? Tennis holds a special place in our hearts—when MYO was founded back in 2003, tennis was actually the very first sport at MYO and was the core backbone alongside other academic programs, Bringing it back feels like honoring our roots while giving our current learners fresh opportunities to shine on and off the court.

We got a visit from the incredible team at Have a Heart Namibia - Spay and Neuter Project today! 🐾
​They shared their mission, their story, and the vital work they do across the country. Have a Heart Namibia is dedicated to improving the lives of stray and underprivileged pets by providing free or low-cost spay, neuter, and vaccination services. They help prevent animal suffering, curb rabies, and ensure happier, healthier lives for thousands of dogs and cats.
​We learned so much about their impact and can't wait to support their ongoing journey. 💛
