As part of its continuous efforts in promoting good corporate governance, the Siya Institute of Vocational Education & Training - SIVET held its first Board meeting for the year 2025 over the weekend.
Like in all previous Board meetings, the Board as the highest decision making body in the structures of the Institution, converged to deliberate on issues of strategic importance to the development and future of the Institution.
Among key points on the agenda was, the tabling of the five year strategic plan "THE SIVET STRATEGIC PLAN (I) 2025 - 2030".
SIVET Board Chairperson Mr. Abisai Shaningwa remarked on the essence of strategic planning stating that the Strategic Plan will act as a yardstick in the implementation of the institutional mandate. βThis document will serve as a roadmap towards the realization of the mission and vision of this young and fast growing Institution.β
The Chairperson further implored on the Board members, management and staff to put energy behind this important blueprint and ensure thorough implementation of all Key Result Areas (KRAs).
"We can have all nicely crafted plans but if we lack in our efforts to implement with determination and consistency, the Strategic Plan will not bear fruit."
The Institutionβs First Strategic Plan
2025 - 2030 prioritises and aligns the Institutionβs operations with industries, institutional and national aspirations as well as benchmarking international best practices.
Among other strategic issues identified are the quality and relevance of training programmes, Good governance and management, Sound business operations and financial sustainability as well as infrastructure development.
"I hold high confidence in the ability and expertise of the Board and management to stir the aspirations of this Institution to greater heights." The Chairperson concluded.
