COHA is bridging the gap.
In Ondangwa , far too many young people and adults especially those with learning difficulties, autism, Down syndrome, or limited formal education face restricted access to meaningful skills development and opportunity.

COHA’s Vocational Training Centre is changing that reality.

We deliver inclusive technical training for individuals aged 16 and above who are ready to build practical, market-relevant skills. Our model is deliberately practical: 80% hands-on training, supported by a focused 20% theoretical foundation in literacy, communicative English, numeracy, entrepreneurship, and information technology. These modules equip trainees with the language, digital, and business capabilities needed to integrate into the community, access employment, and pursue self-employment.

Mentorship is integral. In addition to personal development, we provide structured guidance on workplace professionalism preparing trainees to operate confidently and effectively within industrial and organisational settings.

Over the past year, trainees completed our elementary technical training programme: a full year of structured exposure across disciplines such as Occupational Health and Safety, Bricklayering, auto mechanics and carpentry , delivered in partnership with industry. This phase enables us to identify individual strengths, interests and aptitudes before specialisation begins.

Every trainee is supported by a multidisciplinary team of behaviour therapists, psychologists, occupational health and safety professionals, and qualified technical trainers. Instruction is practical, demonstrative and carefully adapted to diverse learning styles and levels. Assessment centres on demonstrated competence and oral understanding, ensuring that progress is measured by capability, not solely by written performance.

The outcomes to date have been strong. We are successfully identifying clear pathways for each individual, systematically documenting progress, and preparing for expanded intakes.

Concurrently, we are advancing partnerships with other institutions so that COHA can function as an effective bridging pathway into mainstream further training and employment.
In essence, we prepare our trainees for the real world equipped with practical skills, professional readiness, and the confidence to contribute and succeed.
Accessible skills. Real opportunity. A community committed to leaving no one behind.

This is only the beginning.

🌟 Autism Awareness Event at COHA | 25th April 2026

We recently hosted a meaningful Autism Awareness session filled with learning, inspiration, and powerful moments.
Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and Behavioral Therapists shared valuable insights with parents, teachers, and guardians, making the session truly informative and practical.
The highlight of the day was an unforgettable performance by one of our autistic learners. Her beautiful voice and heartfelt expression through song moved the entire audience to tears a powerful reminder of the incredible talents and voices within our community. 💙
Our trainees from COHA VTC also shone brightly. One with Autism and one with Down syndrome, expertly guided by their instructor, showcased the skills they’ve acquired demonstrating ability, dedication, and the impact of inclusive vocational training.

Days like this reinforce our commitment to awareness, inclusion, empowerment, and creating opportunities for every learner to thrive.

Thank you to all our therapists, trainers, participants, and especially our amazing learners for making the event so special.
Together, we are building a more inclusive future.
