🌿 School in the Bush 2026 - Grade 0 & 1 -
πŸ’§Theme: The Fascinating River System of Zambezi

πŸ’ͺ🏽 For the past two days, our youngest adventurers have been discovering the back waters of the Zambezi River through real-life experiences that no classroom can replicate.

🀩 They learned to pitch their own tents, explored the river ecosystem on guided nature walks, met local fishermen, discovered traditional fishing methods, and even experienced a ride in a traditional canoe.

🌍 Growing environmental stewards, one adventure at a time.

πŸ™πŸ½ Caprivi Mutoya Lodge -Spa & Conference and Wildlife Club for supporting us!

🌳 The grade 8 and 9 School in the Bush program is concluded! It has been as usual an amazing experience for the learners and a significant beginning for the River System theme we are carrying this year!

🀩 Encountering elephants, hippos, and lions made the weekend even more special!

πŸ™πŸ½ Thanks again to the Wild Water Group that hosted us at Rupara Rest Camp and to the environmentalists of the Wildlife Club

β˜€οΈ Stay tuned for the adventures of the little ones!

πŸ’ͺ🏽 The School in the Bush program kicked off today with the grade 8 and 9 traveling to Nkasa Rupara National Park!

🌊 The theme we are focusing on this year is THE RIVER SYSTEM of our beautiful Region! We have 5 different groups camping and two main approaches: one more advanced based of analysis and research for the higher grades, and one more sensorial based on games and observation for the little ones!

🀩 Starting today and ending in 10 days, we will expose the learners in a amazing outdoor and hands on experience in nature!

πŸ™πŸ½ We thank the Wild Waters group for the hospitality and the WildLife Club ( UNAM KM ) Wildlife Club for assisting with the program!

🀩 This is what education looks like when ideas become reality.

πŸ’ͺ🏽 This week, two incredible initiatives have come together in one powerful project.

🐟 Thanks to the generous support of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, our learners are launching a school fish pond with 100 tilapia fingerlings. It will become a living classroom where students will explore aquaculture, biodiversity, food security, and sustainable resource management through hands-on experience.

🌳 Surrounding the pond, 10 Neem trees donated by the Directorate of Forestry. These trees will provide shade, enrich biodiversity and prevent malaria!

🌍 The idea of planting Neem trees for malaria prevention was first presented by one of our learners, Minsozi Muyoba, at the Science Fair last year! Such an innovative project that won first place in its category!

πŸ’š Today, that winning idea is no longer just a presentation. It is becoming part of our school, and it is guiding our learners in their environmental activities!

πŸ™πŸ½ Our biggest thanks to the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources and the Directorate of Forestry for believing in our vision and helping our learners turn knowledge into action.

⭐️ As part of our monthly theme, RESILIENCE, the Wild Wings of Wild Kids Academy visited Mafuta Orphanage Center for a day filled with creativity, teamwork, and kindness.

🎨 Our Grade 0 learners joined hands with kindergarten children to transform learning spaces by painting colourful tyres, shapes, letters, and numbers.

🫟 What started as a painting project became a powerful lesson in compassion, service, and community.

πŸ’› Through laughter, collaboration, and shared smiles, our learners discovered that resilience grows when we support others and create positive change together.

🀩 The second term starts with an incredible surprise that gives us the energy and the spirit to keep growing our commitment towards conservation!

πŸ† We are proud and happy for this acknowledgement and we look forward to develop our School in the Bush program even further!

πŸ’š Well done amazing staff of Wild Kids!

🀩 Wha a day for WildKids Academy! This week, some learners took part in a unique cultural engagement where they visited the Ngweze Khuta under the Mafwe Traditional Authority to interview Induna Simataa Mudelele on the importance of integrity!

🀝 Beside connecting theory with lived experience, the interaction also strengthened respect for cultural heritage and traditional governance systems.

πŸ‘‰πŸΎ More on this in our next newspaper edition!

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈFrom the USA to the Zambezi! We were honored to welcome a team of student investigators from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) to WildKids Academy!

🀝🏾 Ciaran, Oliver, Alessia, and Ivan are collaborating with our partner EduVentures on a vital mission: the Freshwater Initiative Project. Their research explores how our community interacts with the river to improve environmental education and sustainable practices. They got so much involved with our learners that they ended up challenging each other on a chess board!!

🚀 We are working together on the β€œZambezi Boat Class” concept, a dream to turn the river into a floating classroom where nature is the primary teacher.

🀩 This international exchange isn’t just about research; it’s about building a global network of conservation leaders.

πŸ™πŸ½ We are grateful, honored and proud!
