THE BIRTH OF A DREAM
The Official Launch of the Mexer Sitoe -Njerenje Sports Academy
Yesterday, 27/06/2026, people from all corners of Mozambique gathered to celebrate the birth of a new dream.
Like a newborn child, the Mexer Sitoe - Njerenje Sports Academy began its journey yesterday—full of promise, hope, and endless possibilities. It has been born from the vision of Njerenje, the generosity of our sponsors, and the belief that every child deserves a chance to dream.
As students, we are proud and excited to witness this special moment.
From the villages and towns of Vanduzi and Chimoio, from the beautiful province of Manica; will all one day come from all parts of Mozambique, young people will come here to learn, train, grow, and discover their potential.
Many of us come from humble beginnings. Some train on dusty fields. Some have faced challenges and obstacles. Yet on this day, this Academy sent a powerful message to every child:
Your circumstances do not define your future.
Today we pay tribute to a son of Mozambique who has carried our flag with pride on international stages, a leader on and off the field, and a role model to thousands of young people—Mexer Sitoe.
Sir, we thank you.
Your words during your first visit to our school continue to inspire us:
"Education First – Sports Second."
Those words have become our compass.
They remind us that while talent may open a door, education helps us walk through it. They remind us that great athletes must also become great human beings.
Yesterday, before our parents, teachers, coaches, guests, and community, we made a promise:
We will strive to become the best versions of ourselves.
We will work hard in the classroom.
We will train hard on the sports field.
We will respect others, show discipline, and never stop believing in our dreams.
To the Ministry of Youths and Sports local government, our sponsors, companies, and business leaders, thank you for believing in an idea that began as a dream for Njerenje.
You have given us more than equipment, facilities, or opportunities.
You have given us hope.
You have given us a lifeline.
You have shown us that our dreams matter and that our future is worth investing in.
May this Academy produce champions in football, athletics, and many other sports.
But even more importantly, may it produce men and women of integrity, courage, humility, and service.
As this new dream takes its first steps, we celebrate not only the opening of an Academy, but the opening of doors for generations of young Mozambicans.
Long live the partnership between Njerenje and Mexer Sitoe.
Long live the dreams of the children of Vanduzi, Chimoio, Manica Province, and all of Mozambique.
Long live the Mexer Sitoe-Njerenje Sports Academy.
And may its story inspire generations yet to come.
