HE CAME HOME AND CHIMOIO WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.
A man who scored in a Coupe de France final against PSG. Who graced the pitches of Rennes, Bordeaux and Sporting CP. Who has worn the Mozambique jersey over 75 times. Mexer — Edson André Sitoe— didn't return to a stadium or a press conference. He came to a school. To our children. To Centro Educacional Njerenje in Chimoio, giving birth to Mexer Sitoe e Njerenje Sport Academy. Season of change indeed!
Before a ball was kicked, he sat with the young players and spoke like a brother, not a celebrity:
“Education first — sport is the complement, not the destination."
In a world drowning in distraction, here was a man who had seen everything telling the youth of Chimoio exactly what they needed to hear. Teachers nodded. Children listened.
Then the whistle blew — and Mexer laced up and played, running the same pitch, chasing the same ball, competing with everything he had alongside the very stars he had just inspired. The friendly between sister schools was electric — fast, fierce, tantalising — and at half time Mexer switched sides, giving both teams the honour, because nobody gets left behind here.
Two strikers burned so brightly that Mexer could not walk away without acting. He handed his own personalised signed jersey to the first and his own autographed personal boots to the second — not gifts from a shelf, but his own, given on the spot, because talent this serious deserves to be honoured. That moment said everything about what this Academy is. Mexer — 75+ caps, three AFCONs, Ligue 1 legend, still competing at 37 — is here, in Chimoio, building the next generation. The journey has begun.
“Football is the vehicle. Transformation is the mission."

Seeing the principles of fluid dynamics and electromagnetic induction jump off the whiteboard and into massive, humming turbines was an absolute game-changer.
Big thanks to EDM Central Hidroelétrica de Chicamba (Divisão de Produção Centro Norte) for showing us how the magic happens. We headed back to school fully charged! 🔋

As Doctor Onward Mandebvu, our esteemed principal, always says, “At Njerenje we walk with purpose, we work with purpose’…
If you walk with purpose, you arrive at your desk with your mind already "on." If you work with purpose, you finish your tasks feeling fulfilled rather than drained.
Happy Wednesday to all
