Look at our amazing kindergarteners mastering the art of cutting paper with scissors, and then practicing their writing! It's not just fun, it's a super important step in their development!

Did you know that cutting with scissors is one of the most advanced fine motor activities for young children? It's like a secret superpower exercise for their hands! This activity helps to strengthen those tiny finger muscles and hand arches, which are absolutely crucial for holding a pencil properly and developing neat handwriting.

But mastering scissors doesn't happen overnight! Before they could snip away like pros, our little learners were busy with many simpler, yet equally important, activities. Think about the fun they had with:
✨️Beading: Carefully threading beads builds hand-eye coordination and pincer grasp.

✨️Transferring with spoons and tongs: This hones precision and control.
Using cloth pegs: Squeezing those pegs is a fantastic way to strengthen finger muscles!

These "pre-scissor" activities, and cutting itself, also play a huge role in increasing their attention span – helping them focus for longer periods!

Parents, you can easily do these wonderful activities at home too! All you need are simple household items to help your child develop strong, capable hands ready for writing and so much more.

Unlocking Tricky Words with Our Movable Alphabet! 🔑

Sometimes, words like to play hide-and-seek with their sounds! 😉 We call these non-phonic words or words with digraphs (two letters that make one sound, like 'sh' or 'ch'). These words don't always follow the regular sound-letter rules we learn at the beginning.

But don't worry, our small movable alphabet is a fantastic tool for tackling these tricky words, even in Bahasa Melayu! Look at this little learner in the picture! She is carefully selecting the individual letters to build a non-phonic word in Bahasa Melayu.

We love seeing our children use this hands-on method to master even the most challenging aspects of reading and writing in Bahasa Melayu!

✨️Word Building with Large Movable Alphabets✨️

This amazing activity lets our little learners explore the magic of words without the challenge of holding a pencil or writing on paper.

Our preschoolers are free to pick up the large, tactile letters and arrange them to form words they know. It's a wonderful way to build early literacy skills, understand letter sounds, and see how words are put together.

The best part? There's no pressure to write perfectly or stay within lines. Just pure, joyful exploration of language! You can really see their confidence grow as they independently create words and share their discoveries.

In these pictures, you can see our children carefully practicing their coordination and concentration as they pour water from a jug into cups. They are learning so much about control, balance, and how to care for their environment by avoiding spills (and cleaning them up if they happen).

They also pour water from a jug into a bottle! This adds another level of challenge and helps develop even finer motor skills as they aim for a smaller opening.

These simple pouring activities are more than just fun; they help children develop:
1. Hand-eye coordination
2. Fine motor skills and muscle control
3. Concentration and focus
4. Independence and self-confidence
5. An understanding of cause and effect
