🌿 A Fun and Educational Field Trip to Lee Garden 🌸*
On 8 April 2026, a bright and cheerful morning ☀️, a group of 13 young learners—10 kindergarten students and 3 Year 1 students—went on a short but exciting field trip to Lee Garden in Tawau. The trip took place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., accompanied by three caring teachers 👩🏫👨🏫 who ensured the students were safe and engaged throughout the visit.
Lee Garden is a well-known plant nursery 🌱 and gardening supplier located in Taman Lim Den Choi. This made it a perfect place for students to learn more about nature in a real-life setting.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore different types of plants 🌿, including flowering plants 🌸, leafy greens 🍃, and small trees 🌳. They learned about basic plant needs such as sunlight ☀️, water 💧, and soil. The nursery staff and teachers also explained how plants grow and why they are important for the environment 🌍.
The students showed great curiosity 🤔 as they observed the different colors, shapes, and sizes of the plants. Some students asked questions about how to take care of plants at home 🏡, while others enjoyed identifying familiar plants they had seen before. The hands-on experience ✋ helped them better understand classroom lessons about nature and living things.
In addition to learning, the trip also encouraged teamwork 🤝 and social interaction. Students stayed together in small groups, listened carefully 👂 to instructions, and shared their observations with one another.
Overall, the field trip to Lee Garden was both fun 🎉 and educational 📚. It provided the students with a meaningful outdoor learning experience and inspired them to appreciate the beauty 🌼 and importance of plants in our daily lives.

✨ Dream Big, Start Small
Charis International School was honoured to welcome Mr. David Yip, founder of Wira Bintang Farming & Feeds, for an inspiring sharing session with our students.
His talk, “Any Big Dream Comes Small,” highlighted how great achievements often begin with humble beginnings.
During the session, Mr. David encouraged students to embrace three important principles in life: dream big, work hard, and never stop learning. Through his personal journey, he demonstrated how passion, perseverance, and continuous learning can transform a simple idea into a thriving business.
Mr. David shared that his inspiration began during a visit to farms in Australia, where he observed the high quality of sheep farming. This experience led him to realise that Sabah possesses the natural conditions needed to raise quality livestock. With determination and belief in his vision, he began his journey with just two sheep, eventually growing it into the successful farming enterprise it is today.
Students were especially fascinated by the video showing the birth of a lamb, which provided them with a unique and engaging insight into the livestock industry.
The session concluded with an enthusiastic Q&A, where students asked thoughtful questions about farming, entrepreneurship, and life goals. Their curiosity and eagerness to learn made the session both lively and meaningful.
Mr. David left students with a memorable reminder:
“Great dreams often begin with very small beginnings.”
Charis International School extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. David Yip for sharing his valuable experiences and inspiring our students. Meaningful engagements like this continue to broaden our students’ perspectives and encourage them to pursue their dreams with confidence.
