CALL FOR PAPERS: 6th International Music and Performing Arts Conference (IMPAC2024)

Theme: The Future of Performing Arts: Adapting to Changing Landscapes

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 6th International Music and Performing Arts Conference (IMPAC2024), to be held virtually on 3 and 4 December 2024. Organised by the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (Sultan Idris Education University), this year’s conference will focus on the theme The Future of Performing Arts: Adapting to Changing Landscapes.



WHO SHOULD SUBMIT

We invite established scholars, emerging researchers, artists, and practitioners from around the globe to submit their work addressing any aspect of the conference theme. Presenters are welcome to select from the following formats:

20-minute full paper presentation
10-minute lightning paper presentation


All accepted papers will be included in the IMPAC2024 e-Proceedings. Additionally, the Editorial Committee will review submissions and select the best papers for potential publication in either the Scopus-indexed Malaysian Journal of Music or Jurai Sembah, a performing arts journal. Authors may also choose to submit their manuscripts to other journals published by Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris.

You may contribute your articles in categories of either empirical research article, concept article or review articles. Papers must contain original results, and this journal prohibits an author from submitting the same manuscript for concurrent consideration by two or more publications. It prohibits as well the publication of any manuscript that has already been published either in whole or substantial part elsewhere. It also does not permit publication of manuscript that has been published in full in Proceedings. The copyright of articles is assigned to the Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI).

The publication of this journal aims to expand and create innovations in the concepts, theories, paradigms, perspectives and methodologies of research and learning of performing arts that are cross-field and cross-cultural. Published twice a year, the JURAI SEMBAH (e-ISSN 2716-5523) contains the results of original conceptual investigation and field research. The features of the JURAI SEMBAH are its thematic publications, innovative approaches as well as cross-cultural and cross-field learning in performance arts. Thematic studies aimed to elicit a new conceptual nuance arising from the combination of several different articles, to present the uniformity of issues, conceptual and methodological uniformity and to illustrate abstract concepts in the performing arts.
