The school theme couldn’t have been truer for Dalat PTO as we enjoyed many favorite traditions while also finding new ways to do things due to the construction of the center field and the new parking space this past year.
With the help of more than , Dalat PTO has met new families at New Parent Breakfasts, Orientations & WhatsApp grade groups and has enjoyed connecting at the Meet and Greet, PTO Walk & Breakfast and the End of Year Party. Together, we blessed all our teachers & staff with Thanksgiving meals & gift vouchers (which we were able to double!), we brought our community together for an exciting Family Fun Day, celebrated Christmas at the PTO Mingle Jingle, spread love through the Valentine’s Cookie Sale and enjoyed each other’s cuisines at the International Food Fair. For the first time this year, we organized the International Parade which showcased the beautiful diversity of our community. We were once again able to collaborate with the school during x-blocks, ES Connections, Celebrating Differences Embracing Uniqueness and Child Safety weeks, as well as the campus-wide Neurodiversity Week which included our very first Community Potluck. We had fun packing 100 day bracelets for ES students, putting up and dismantling art exhibits during the Fine Arts Festival, and popping delicious popcorn on Mondays. Finally, we were able to bless the school with the new coffee machine for the staff lounge, new makeup kit for the drama students and a pair of beam lights for the Harbor Hall.
Chapter 12 of the book of 1 Corinthians in the Bible describes an image of the human body which is made up of many members. It goes on to explain how each member of the body is valuable and necessary for the whole organism to work well together, and that is exactly how we felt about our PTO this year – everyone participated generously in different ways, by praying, serving or sharing finances, and we are truly for every one of those contributions. PTO sends big virtual hugs to all who are moving on (we will miss you!) & we look forward to seeing most of you again in August! Have a restful and healthy summer break!
