7 Oct. 2026: Our Taiping Toastmasters Club 7th meeting of this term was very special, fun and memorable. We warmly welcomed our guests from YMCA of Ipoh and Ipoh Toastmasters Club to our club..
There was full participation from everyone and the meeting was conducted smoothly by the Toastmaster of the Evening, Toastmaster Dr Celine Soosai, MS3.
The theme, "The Butterfly Effect" is appropriate as in Toastmasters, butterflies are in formation. The word of the day was, 'ripple'.
Our Sargeant At Arms, Toastmaster Indragandi, PM2 set up the room, helped to prepare the food, and presented her speech project.It was the Presentation Mastery Level 3 Persuasive Speaking project entitled, "The Rabbit and The Tortoise". Well done! Her evaluator was Toastmaster Ramachandran.
Next, the new Distinguished Toastmaster Ian Liew from Ipoh Toastmasters Club presented his project , Introduction to Vocal Variety and Body Language entitled DTM from the Engaging Humour Path. Congratulations for being voted The Best Speaker.
Thanks to his evaluator, Nithianandan DTM.
The third project speaker, Aileen Oon DTM had to manage a difficult audience while presenting her speech, "Healthy Lifestyle -Small Choices, Big Changes' from the Engaging Humour Path. Thanks to her evaluator the President Toastmaster Julian Looi , EC3 from Ipoh Toastmasters Club.
The Topics Session was well conducted by our club VPE Toastmaster Lee Joo Yee, PM5. Kudos to all the 5 speakers who spoke well. Thanks and Congratulations to Toastmaster Dr Deline for being voted the Best Topics Speaker.👏 Thanks to S. Angeline DTM , the President of YMCA of Ipoh for being the Topics Evaluator. She was voted the Best Evaluator. Congratulations 👏
Everyone enjoyed the yummy food and drinks served. Thanks to all who contributed the chicken curry, layer cake, kuih ketayap.etc.
Our Area S1 Director, Toastmaster Dr Tai Nyok Ling, PM5 conducted an exciting debate , CEO vs Retirees. We encourage more fun game sessions in future.
Our club President Irvin Gan , PM5 expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all our members and Toastmasters guests from Ipoh. They had travelled far to join us and we will visit them in Ipoh in the near future.
We encourage joint meetings. The President of Kelab Toastmasters Bahasa Melayu Perak , Aileen Oon DTM expressed her wish that her new club be invited to meetings in other clubs.
