Eid Mubarak! Selamat Hari Raya from all of us at Kraftee Bug - Art and Craft Class !

Assalamualaikum & Salam Sejahtera!

How is everyone doing? We pray everyone, especially our Bugs are doing fine and coping well with the new norms.

We kicked-off Krafteebug's 5th anniversary on February 8th 2020 by creating awareness of Covid-19 (known then as ‘2019-nCov’-‘Novel coronavirus’) through art and craft . Our Bugs were first introduced to the virus (Malaysia then was recording 14 positive cases only) and emphasis was placed on the importance of cleanliness. Little did we know that our subject matter then would precipitate into a topsy-turvy world; affecting every aspect of our livelihood, from how we interact, communicate, to having to live with wearing face masks at all times! Suspending the classes from March 14th onwards was a wise call because a few days later, on March 18th, Malaysia announced the implementation of the Movement Control Order.

Acknowledging the need for creative activities during the ‘lockdown’, and trying to accede to requests, we have attempted several ways to keep the class going (yes, we’ve tried YouTube and teaching via video conferencing) but somehow, it could not turn out the way we expect and envisage. So, we decided to monitor the situation and put the classes on hold until we deemed it safe to have one.

Two months have passed (initial plan was to start in July), and in a cautious move, the government has announced the implementation of TEMCO in Ambangan Heights starting today, August 28th. Such an action indicates that the pandemic is not even close to being over.

With the safety and the health of our precious Bugs taking priority, we have inevitably decided to suspend all classes throughout the rest of 2020. Hopefully normalcy will return soon, and we can resume Kraftee Bug’s ‘creative adventures ‘, InsyaAllah!

Thank you so much for supporting us. Here's to wishing everyone will stay safe and healthy during these trying times. Missing the Bugs so much, please send our regards to them ya?

Till we meet again, InsyaAllah.
Best Regards,
Sharel & Izza (Kraftee Bug)

Hi all! How is everyone coping with the 'new norm'? We hope everyone is coping well, staying healthy and safe at home.

Allow us to share one article from our recent readings on nurturing child's creativity. The author emphasized on the importance of setting aside a 'little' extra free time in a child's schedule for creative activities. A study found that even a minimal creative activity, regardless of skill level, helps people manage their emotions, build confidence and explore solutions to problems.

During this MCO, our three boys were given homework by their teachers as well and in between, we gave them creative breaks; drawing, listening to music, play bricks etc..just to keep them (and us) 'sane' (hehehe).

So, to all parents out there, we highly recommend that you set at least 30 minutes per day (maybe 5-10 minutes in the morning, 20 at night-up to you) for your child to let loose and work on their creative skills. It can be painting, colouring, sketch, dancing, singing or play pretend. Best, if you could play along and be with them during their creative adventures.

Have fun!

Art gets "messier" when they're out and about! Equipped them with papers, paints/ colour pencils/ crayons.. let them breathe fresh air and explore the world!...erm..within your house compound (Restriction of Movement Order)..

Parents, relax..take a chill pill.. let them have fun! 😉

Hey Moms and Dads! "Unfortunately" (hehe), according to researchers, messy art such as finger paint is very important to a child's physical develpoment. It improves gross motor skills, muscle strengthening, improves hand eye coordination, body control and balance and saptial awareness.

Paint flowers, trees, the sea, portraiture or even space monsters! Let's get messy!

Note:
We're using EN71 certified non-toxic paints and just remind them not to paint the walls 😉 Have Fun!
