In January, 2016, Heads Up Academy opened its doors in response to a crying need for the same high-quality education provided by Heads Up all these years. Even though our main focus is still on building a strong IGCSE foundation for our students, we believe education is more than scoring A’s. Students from Primary School are academically prepared for exams using the most prestigious and popular international curriculum of choice – Cambridge International Examination (CIE) IGCSE for Secondary Schools, leading to many pre-University educational options such as A-Levels, IB Diploma, matriculation or foundation programmes at colleges or universities, both local and overseas. We place great emphasis on helping our students build strong connections with each other and their teachers, while encouraging good manners and developing soft skills. Heads-Up strives to instill good morals and values through its character-building programmes such as feeding the poor and hungry, visiting and serving children in refugee schools and orphanages. We Get Really Active! Extra-curricular activities helps to nurture creativity, imagination, strategies for problem solving and the expansion of a student’s critical divergent thought process. Numerous workshops are organised under PSHE to develop leadership and promote teamwork among the students. Enrichment activities, field trips or educational excursions are in the pipeline to allow students to make meaningful links between textbook content and the world beyond their classrooms.
