The School of Diploma and Professional Studies at Taylor's College brought home 2 Gold 🥇 and 2 Silver 🥈 awards from the IEEE International Conference on Innovation, Ethics & Emerging Tech in Engineering and Computing Education (IE2C) organised by the IEEE Education Society (EdSoc) in Kuala Lumpur today!

Additionally, our projects bagged the "Best Educational Innovation Award" and "Best Ethical & Responsible Innovation Award" special awards. The project was led by Diploma in Business students Mandy Lim Shin Jwu and Chong Kar Mun, mentored by lecturers Umi Kassim & Jayasutha Matiah.

Their "NightSync" project aims at providing various forms of emotional and psychological support via their app, when we are at our most relaxed, and often times, vulnerable states at night. The Programme congratulates them for their outstanding achievement in this prestigious conference.

In the interview they asked me "what did I see in this batch?" 💭

I said they were like Harry Potter and friends. They first arrived in a wildly unfamiliar environment, and reached for success not through magic, but the strong and meaningful bonds that make them stand strong and united. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏻

Today, they leave for the train to a wonderland of opportunities. 🚆

Earlier this month, our Diploma in Business students took a fascinating educational visit to the Yakult Factory in Seremban. They went behind the scenes to learn about supply chain logistics, high-tech manufacturing, and the quality control needed to produce probiotics (good bacteria that support gut health).

Business isn't just learned in the classroom, it's experienced on the factory floor! 🏭✨Here is what we took away from this educational tour:

🇯🇵 High-Tech Operations: We observed advanced Japanese automated machinery in action. It showed us the true power of efficient, large-scale manufacturing.
🛡 Quality Control: We learned about the strict food safety standards required to maintain the quality of probiotics in every single bottle.
💡 Business Strategy: We discussed how a single health-focused product scaled globally through smart marketing and consistent branding.

A huge thank you to the Yakult Malaysia team for a highly insightful visit! Seeing a real-world production process in action is invaluable for our future business leaders.

How are you bridging the gap between textbook theories and real-world industries this year? Let me know in the comments! 👇
