Last weekend I had the opportunity to go for Epic Retreat with the WXS Team at Grand Lexis Hibiscus! 🤸♀️
It is a wonderful experience to be a part of an organisation that aspires to be healthy and happy together.
I made a lot of new friends and I gained lots of knowledge. I had an extremely fun weekend and I wish I could go back. I seriously can’t wait for the next Epic Retreat! 😍

Hey guys! I’ve got a lot of questions on this:
“Do you and your clients even eat rice during the 10 Days Challenge?”
The answer is YES I do take rice but in a smaller portion as I’m on a weight loss program.
Recently I just started changing my white rice to brown rice to improve my fitness level even more. Now I can have a little bit more of rice without feeling guilty haha 😆
The benefits of brown rice are many! Some of them are:
🍚 Rich in antioxidants
🍚 Useful for weight control
🍚 Helps in diabetes control
🍚 Low cholesterol level
🍚 Improves digestives health
🍚 Possesses antidepressant properties
🍚 Low GI

I was having a rough day and I felt extremely sad yesterday. I didn’t talk much and stayed in my room. My 7-year-old sister-in-law noticed I was crying in the car and when we got home, she came into my room and asked me why am I sad.
I brushed it off by saying this sadness will pass. She asked me who hurt me and insisted me to talk about my feelings by saying, “Kakak Sofea, I want you to talk to me about why you’re sad. I know how it feels when I’m sad,”.
She then expressed her sorrows and told me how she misses papa so much. That broke my heart. “I miss going for roti canai and pergi taman with papa. He would always play with me. I really miss papa so much. I can only make doa for him now, I know he can listen,”.
For a 7-year-old to say all this breaks and touches my heart at the same time. Fatehah has always been jovial with no trace of sadness on her face.. for her to open up with me and empathise my problems is just wonderful. Kids are indeed pure and innocent.
I am grateful to have a beautiful sister with a beautiful heart. She will grow up to become an amazing woman, I’m sure. May Allah wipe away her sorrows and replace them with precious moments 💖

Who says eating clean is dull, not filling and boring?
A lot of people tend to give up on “eating clean” when they restrict themselves from eating certain type of food, starving themselves, skipping breakfast and etc.
The truth is, eating clean is not hard and it can look very appealing and taste good as well. Not only that, it is packed with a lot of nutrients that will keep you healthy.

Here are some tips for those who want to start practising eating clean for weight loss:
➡️ Substitute fried chicken/fish to grilled, roasted & steamed. Avoid red meat like lamb, beef and pork.🍗
➡️ Instead of using dressings or sauce, use spice and herbs for taste instead. 🌿
➡️ Have a balanced meal to feel full. Control your portion by making sure 50% of your plate comes from veggies, 25% protein and 25% carbs. You can reduce your carbs intake if your goal is to lose weight. 🍛
➡️ Avoid WHITE BREAD as it may do more harm than good, by providing excess calories and few nutrients. 🍞
➡️ Drink PLAIN water only! Aaaand lots of it. The more you drink, the more you shrink!💧
➡️ Eat consistently and frequently. For example: Breakfast -> Snack -> Lunch -> Snack -> Dinner
(For snacking, you can have fruits, nuts, salad, boiled egg etc)
I hope these tips would be beneficial for those who want to start practising a healthy lifestyle. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to DM me 😋

💭 THURSDAY THOUGHTS 💭
•
Growing up in Malaysia with a curvy body, I often felt insecure because of the experience I had with a lot of people. They’d call me fat & revealing, when I was just curvy and muscular. I didn’t fit into the “beauty standard” of how a Malay girl should be.
When I expressed how down I was to my mum during my teen years, she’d always tell me that “one day, you will appreciate your curves. Even mummy wants your curves too,”. She would then joked about how a mat salleh guy would appreciate my body haha as a kid I was pretty naive 😅
Fast forward to today, I’ve grown to love my curves and now I’m much more confident than before. I started gaining confidence when I got together with Syakir. He never made me feel lesser than beautiful, he’d constantly shower me with compliments after compliments. That has made me feel good about myself, and for that I am grateful for him.
My point is, everyone is uniquely beautiful in their own way. We should love and respect every inch of our body. Don’t let people tell you otherwise. The first step to healing is that we should forgive and love ourselves. With confidence and love, we will bloom and glow ✨
