Reading notes is great, but exploring by ear is pure magic! 🎹

When a student loves a song, I like to run with it. We closed the music books, changed keys, shifted positions, and just had fun playing together.

First it was "Happy Birthday" on repeat, and now Jayden has moved on to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars"! 🌟

No pressure, no stress about making mistakes—just pure exploration.

When I asked if he enjoyed it, he gave the sweetest answer: ”Mummy will be surprised!“ 🤫❤️

What does “listening” actually look like? 🧐🎶

In this activity, they aren’t just playing instruments—they are learning about musical form (the different sections of a piece of music)!

🎵 Section A: Focused coordination, playing a steady rhythm on the table.
🎵 Section B: The music changes, and it’s time to move! Full-body movement while keeping the pulse with maracas.

When they hear ”Reverse!“, their brains have to quickly process the auditory cue and switch directions.

It’s the perfect mix of ear training, motor skills, and pure fun! 🧠✨

We have a new friend here today. So, we decided to bring Panda for a wild ride through the music staff today.

If your kiddo struggles to draw this famous symbol, just tell them it’s a roller coaster loop! We can always break down big musical concepts into playful stories makes learning stick—no dry drills required.

What does an almost 4-year-old learn in their 4th piano lesson? 🎹✨

Visualizing the keyboard can be tricky when you’re only 4, but finding those groups of 2 and 3 black keys is where the magic starts. Look at that focus and the pure joy at the end!

You’ve seen Wei Jun exploring the keys in the previous post—Today, we’re leveling up with some teamwork! 🎹✨

We are passing the melody and chords back and forth like a real conversation. It’s not just about hitting the right notes yet; it’s about learning to listen, share the rhythm, and build confidence.

His finger technique is still a work in progress, but that’s completely okay! Right now, we’re focusing on the joy of making music together. 🥰🚀
