A storytelling company that intends to redefine storytelling from mere entertainment to an avenue for therapy and imagination-building in a child, and adult. We bring stories to life through puppet shows, dance and music sessions, imagination-building and creative writing workshops, brand associations, and corporate events. Leaving people with happy, wagging tales. We perform at birthday parties - Offering a package that includes an original tale written specially for the birthday child with their favourite things, friends and memories. We make puppets especially for the show. Gifting the puppet/s to the child after the show. Followed by a short art activity based on the story. We also offer to print the story (with photos of the puppets) as a picture book that can be given away as return gifts. Besides this customised package, we also perform standard stories at birthday parties. But not your shouting, screaming sorta stories. We also conduct workshops (details below) for those who don't want a typical birthday party. Mostly for the older kids. 10-14 year olds. These workshops are four-hour versions of our main workshops. We perform for brand associations - Brands that cater to children find us the ideal partner to get across their message in a sophisticated way. We work with the brand to create a story, puppets and a setting that can bring their brief to life. We recently performed at the Mumbai International Airport for World Environment Day. Performing at the Departure Lounge, bringing into focus the Botanical Gardens that exist inside the airport. We do workshops for children (2 years to 14 year olds) - Storytelling workshops for the younger ones that are interactive and engaging. Publish your own comic book for the 8 to 11 year old where we have them conjuring up their own story and then illustrating them to finally publishing them as a pixzine. Put up your own puppet show where participants are thought to make their own puppets and then together they weave a story around those characters, finally performing the story for an audience. Creative writing for the 12+ where they can learn the tricks of the trade or hone their skills. We do workshops for corporates - Puppetry can help bring a team closer together. Storytelling can help team members find their confidence in presenting and working together. We work with Human Resources to help in team building. Customising a two day programme that includes making puppets and weaving a story around them, along with exercises in story telling and voice modulation. We train parents - One of our core missions is to get parents to tell their children stories every night. Not read from a book. But tell them a story every night. Looking them in the eye. A moment that helps deepen the parent-child connect, but also impacts the child's imagination, sense of protection and personal development. To reach this end we help parents become the world's best storyteller to their child. A series of three-hour sessions spread across four Saturdays has them becoming confident with this wonderful gift. About us: Wagtales is the third baby of Sheetal deSa and Satish deSa, a wife-husband team who are committed to child development and the Steiner method of education. Sheetal is a teacher at Tridha Waldorf School, Mumbai. She can make wool come alive as a puppet. Even a sock, a glove or a piece of paper. Satish is a copywriter by profession and a storyteller by compulsion. He can pull stories out of thin air. Together, they create magic. And tales that wag.
