🦷✨ Today was a tooth-tastic day at Small Wonder Children’s House. We had a special visit from Dr Kit and Dr Jeya from .dental.centre for a dental check-up and to learn how to brush our teeth the right way! 😁🪥

Thank you Dr Kit and Dr Jeya for helping us take care of our smiles, and thank you to for the toothbrushes and toothpaste! 💙

We learned that taking care of our teeth is very important for a happy and healthy smile! 🦷😊

🌿 Nature Walk 🌱

As part of our Living & Non-Living Things theme this week, we got our hands dirty (literally!) learning all about gardening! 🧑‍🌾

We explored:
🪴 Types of soil
🧪 How to mix soil
🌱 Planting seeds
💧 Watering and caring for our plants

The best part? We decorated our own pots and planted okra. Can’t wait to watch them grow! 😍🌿

We wrapped up our visit with a peaceful walk through the garden and even spotted a very hungry caterpillar 🐛👀

We were absolutely delighted to welcome Ayne Zarof – paediatrician, author, and proud Malaysian storyteller, to Small Wonder Children’s House this morning! 💛

Our children had a magical time with Ayne during a cosy storytelling session, followed by a fun colouring activity, and wrapped up the morning with a joyful makan kuih session – a delicious taste of Malaysian culture! 🇲🇾🥰

Ayne’s debut children’s book, launching on 14 July 2025, is a heartfelt tribute to rediscovering one’s roots and celebrating the beauty of Malaysia. 🌏✨

This year, we’re thrilled to introduce a hands-on culinary experience for our senior children! They’ll have the opportunity to cook rice and make muffins for their group. Today, two talented chefs from the Blue Group took on the task of cooking rice for their classmates. The result? Fluffy, delicious rice that was devoured in no time at lunch!

This activity is part of our Practical Life exercises (care of environment), which play a key role in helping children develop independence, concentration, and coordination. Through real-life tasks like measuring, cleaning, and food preparation, our children gain confidence, problem-solving skills, as they become a “contributing” member of the household. These experiences are not only fun - they lay the foundation for lifelong learning and self-sufficiency. We couldn’t be more proud of our little chefs!
