Overdose doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes, it looks like someone who is “sleeping”—but cannot be awakened and is barely breathing.
This International Overdose Awareness Day, let’s learn to recognise the warning signs, respond without delay and replace judgement with compassion. An overdose is a medical emergency, and timely action can save a life.
Remember: Call 999, check breathing, give naloxone if an opioid overdose is suspected and it is available, and never leave the person alone.
Every life is worth saving. Let’s end overdose and the stigma surrounding it—one informed action at a time. 💜🐮
