Venue: LT16
Since ancient times, the two disciplines have been characterized by an intimate and synergic bond, with each field informing and enriching the other. The study of history, most notably, stands out as a key foundation for the development of IR theories, provides rich case studies that are essential for the testing of the latter, and also allows us to make sense of the constant evolution of the international system.
The guest lecture will be conducted by Prof. Dr. Farish Noor, a renowned historian and IR expert who will shed light on the symbiotic relationship between these two fields. His thought-provoking address will highlight the relevance of historical context in understanding current international dynamics, the role of history in inspiring the formulation of IR theories, as well as the importance of historical knowledge for IR practitioners.

๐พ Fun (and HOT) Day at Farm Fresh UPM Yesterday! ๐
BSS students of Regional Organization, Cooperation, and Integration module embarked on a field trip to Farm Fresh UPM, immersing themselves in the complexities of food security, specifically focusing on dairy farming and agricultural practices. ๐๐
Our day was a blend of education and fun โ riding tractors, interacting with cows, goats, and geese, and gaining insights from our knowledgeable guide, Lina. Beyond the adorable farm moments, Lina enlightened us on cows and their breed - Australian Friesian Sahiwal, developed in Australia that is especially suited to hot and humid climates, nutritional needs, and the stress-free environment crucial for optimal milk production. Fun fact: a single cow can yield up to 40 liters of milk per day! ๐๐ฅ
Post-tour, our exploration extended to the small onsite shops, where we indulged in freshly made ice creams and purchased farm-fresh milk. It was a holistic experience, connecting classroom knowledge with real-world agriculture. ๐ฆ๐๏ธ
