We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Talk Session: “Photonics for Healthcare Application”, held at the Laser Centre, UTM.

We were pleased to welcome the Director and committee members of Sensor Malaysia to the Ibnu Sina Institute for Scientific & Industrial Research (ISI-SIR), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, for a discussion on the joint organisation of the ASIASENSE 2027 Conference.The discussion was led by the Senior Director of ISI-SIR and attended by Centre Directors, the Head of the Department of Physics, and members of ISI-SIR. A fruitful discussion was held towards making ASIASENSE 2027 a successful and impactful event. Stay tuned for more updates on ASIASENSE 2027!

The Laser Centre, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), is proud to congratulate Dr. Mohd Shahril Salleh, a Research Assistant at Laser Centre UTM, on his appointment as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), Indonesia.

This postdoctoral opportunity reflects UTM's commitment to fostering international academic collaboration and strengthening global research networks. During his fellowship, Dr. Shahril actively contributes to teaching, research, and academic engagement through a series of co-teaching sessions and knowledge-sharing activities focusing on *Renewable Energy* and *Waste Treatment Technology*. These activities provide valuable exposure for students while promoting the exchange of expertise between UTM and UM.

The collaboration also supports the internationalisation agenda of both institutions by encouraging interdisciplinary research, academic mobility, and the development of innovative solutions for sustainable energy and environmental challenges.

Laser Centre UTM congratulates Dr. Shahril on this significant achievement and wishes him continued success in advancing research excellence while strengthening the long-standing collaboration between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universitas Negeri Malang.

Laser Center UTM was pleased to welcome a delegation from Nanotechnology Engineering, Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline, Universitas Airlangga on 9th June 2026.

The visit involved 12 visitors, including 2 lecturers and 10 undergraduate students. The program began with a short lecture on laser technology delivered by Laser Center member Dr. Ali Aqeel Salim Al-Shammari, followed by a guided visit to the laboratory facilities.

During the coffee break after the lab visit, both parties also engaged in fruitful discussions on potential future collaborations, particularly in research, academic exchange, and student development.

We sincerely thank the delegation from Universitas Airlangga for visiting Laser Center UTM and look forward to strengthening this academic relationship in the future.

This work highlights the use of pulsed laser ablation in liquid (PLAL) to synthesize high-performance nanocomposites for photocatalytic applications, particularly in environmental remediation.
