Malaysia Novice Arbitration Training Camp 2022

Malaysia Novice Arbitration Training Camp 2022 The Malaysia Novice Arbitration Training Camp (MY-NATC) is a training basis program initiated by the Advocacy and Mooting Unit UUM.

MY-NATC is also the first student-based initiative that is open to all law undergraduate students in Malaysia who do not have prior experience in arbitration competitions. It aims to promote the participantsโ€™ awareness and expose them to the knowledge and experience in arbitration.

The Malaysia Novice Arbitration Training Camp (MY-NATC) 2022 has successfully remarked its closing on 8 May 2022.

In this regard, we are truly honoured to have the representative of our Gold Sponsor, Messrs Chong + Kheng Hoe, Mr Louis Liaw Vern Xien, the representative of the Dean of School of Law, UUM, Associate Professor Dr. Yuhanif binti Yusof and last but not least, the representative of AIADR, Datoโ€™ Quek Ngee Meng to delivered their keynote remarks in our closing ceremony. After the announcement of the winners, there was also a lucky draw session with interesting prizes to draw MY-NATC to a close.

Hereby, we would like to thank every participant for showing their effort in this training camp. Also, not forget the student coaches who contributed their time to coach the teams. On 7th May 2022, the MY-NATC Online Webinar: Career Prospect on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) was conducted specifically for the participants of our training camp. This webinar was designed to enlighten the participants on the topic of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) with professional sharing from distinguished speakers.

We are honoured to have Ms. Heather Yee Jing Wah and Ms. Irin Tan Su Fern as our speakers. Ms. Heather Yee has shared the career prospect in ADR with the participants meanwhile Ms. Irin Tan has introduced the operations of the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR) and the student memberships to the participants. It was indeed an informative session!

Hereby, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to our esteemed speakers for spending their precious time to share their insights with us. We believe the participants greatly benefitted as we do. Once again, thank you!

The final discussion for the teams has been successfully conducted with their respective student coaches. All the teams are now well prepared and excited for the submission rounds. We believe that all the participants have gained a great deal of knowledge from our incredible coaches and that, hopefully, all of the preparations made are useful for all of the participants.

Greetings from the MY-NATC Organising Committee!

On 23rd April, the group discussion went off without a hitch for the second time. As this is the second group discussion, it can be seen that the participants interacted confidently and effectively with their respective group members. Moreover, in creating a more engagement session, a game session was conducted to improve their rebuttal skills based on different issues.

Last but not least, we are looking forward to seeing the outcomes from all the participants and hope they enjoyed the entire learning process.
