🎶❤️👂🎨 Zhu Jian'er didn't just copy tradition; he absorbed it and used it creatively. Now it's your turn. Let's try two creative tasks based on this piece.

📖✍️ First, improvisation. Take the piece’s simple, conversational motif and, at the piano, use it to have your own musical conversation. Play it softly, and answer loudly. Be questioning, then be certain. You are not playing Zhu Jian'er's notes anymore; you're using his musical language to speak your own mind.

📖✍️ Second, composition. Embrace the Chinese 'linear conception'. Write a simple, single-line melody using a pentatonic scale with just the black keys on the piano. It instantly gives a Chinese flavour. Now add a second, independent line in the bass. Don't think about Western chords; think of two voices flowing together, like two streams, occasionally meeting to create harmony naturally.

This is exactly what Zhu Jian'er did: he took the essence of Chinese music and found new ways to express it. So, go ahead: be a musician, a performer, and finally, a creator.
