🔥 Fire, food, heat… and science all came together in this exciting Calorimetry lesson! 🧪✨

Students explored how chemical energy stored in food can be converted into heat energy when burned 🔥➡️🌡️ Through hands-on experiments, they measured temperature changes, calculated energy transfer, and carefully recorded their experimental results in their lab books just like real scientists 📖✍️

📚 Formula learned:
Q = mcΔT
Where:
Q = Heat energy
m = Mass
c = Specific heat capacity
ΔT = Change in temperature

Students also created their own candles 🕯️ while learning how combustion 🔥releases both heat and light energy. A fun and engaging way to connect science concepts with real-world applications! 💡

🚗✨ Rubber-Powered Car ✨🚗

Our young scientists had an exciting time building and testing their very own rubber-powered cars! 🔬⚡

Through this fun hands-on activity, the kids discovered how elastic potential energy stored in the rubber band can be converted into kinetic energy to make the car move 🚀

Lots of creativity, problem-solving, and excitement filled the class as they watched their cars race across the floor 💛✨

So proud of their curiosity and teamwork! 🌟

Sir David Attenborough turns 100 this year! 🎉

For many of us in education, his documentaries have done something magical — they brought the natural world into our classrooms. From deep oceans to dense jungles, our students get to witness real science, real animals, and real ecosystems through his storytelling.

In our Kiddo Science classes, we often show short clips from his documentaries when learning about animals, plants, and habitats. The moment the video starts, the classroom becomes alive with curiosity and wonder.

Thank you, Sir David Attenborough, for inspiring generations of young scientists and helping educators everywhere spark curiosity about our beautiful planet.

Happy 100th Birthday! 🌍💚

☀️🔬 Exploring Solar Energy 🔬☀️

Our students had an exciting time building their very own solar ovens and exploring how solar energy works! 🔬☀️

By using sunlight to create heat, the kids discovered how energy from the sun can be transformed into thermal energy through a fun hands-on experiment 🔥🚀

Amazing work by all our future scientists! 👏✨

Introducing Science: Heat Energy

Our little scientist exploring heat energy in a fun and hands on way! 🌡️✨
We learned that heat energy is what makes things warm up, change, and even move. From rubbing our hands together to simple experiments, the kids saw how energy can transfer from one place to another!

💡 Key takeaway:
Heat energy is everywhere, in the sun, in our food, and even in our bodies when we move!

Seeing their curious faces light up while learning = the best part ❤️
Learning science can be simple, exciting, and full of wonder!

⚡ Think lightning is just a flash in the sky? Think again! 💡

𝗔 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 can release around 1 billion joules of energy — that’s roughly enough to keep a 𝟭𝟬𝟬-𝘄𝗮𝘁𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗯 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝟯 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀! 😯

So… why don’t we use 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 like solar or wind? 🤔

The challenge is that lightning is powerful, unpredictable, and over in a split second. Most of its energy is released almost instantly, making it extremely difficult (and expensive) to capture, store, and use safely. ⚡

Nature sure knows how to make a dramatic power show! 🌩️✨
