These days, children’s English is improving rapidly,
but Chinese is quietly becoming their weakest subject.
Many parents notice this too.
Children are constantly exposed to English through YouTube, games, and social media,
so they pick it up very naturally.
However, when it comes to Chinese —
especially writing and reading comprehension —
many children begin to struggle.
The issue is often not effort or ability.
Rather, Chinese is exposed less and rarely taught in a structured, systematic way.
As a Chinese independent school (UEC) graduate
and a current school teacher,
I see this very often in class:
Many children do not “lack Chinese knowledge”.
They simply do not know how to think, organise ideas, and express themselves in Chinese.
This is why I chose to focus on Chinese language education.
I hope children won’t just complete their writing tasks,
but gradually learn to:

👉 write with substance
👉 and build genuine confidence in Chinese
