Industrial Visit to Express Rail Link (ERL)

On 3 June 2026, students from Class AA7044PA, Semester 4 of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School (AAGBS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), participated in an Industrial Visit to Express Rail Link (ERL), the operator of KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit.

The visit provided students with valuable exposure to ERL's operations, maintenance facilities, and management practices. Through informative sharing sessions and guided tours of the maintenance depot, students gained first-hand insights into the systems, processes, and best practices that support ERL's operational excellence and service delivery.

Students also had the opportunity to engage with ERL's management and technical teams, including Mr Aminuddin VP Hamzah, Vice President of Customer Service Management, who shared valuable insights into customer service excellence and the rail transportation industry.

The experience enabled students to relate concepts learned in the classroom to real-world industry practices, particularly in the areas of strategic management, operations, leadership, and continuous improvement.

The industrial visit was conducted under the supervision of Dr Alisa Binti Ibrahim, whose guidance and support contributed significantly to the success of this experiential learning initiative.

The visit was a meaningful and enriching learning experience, broadening students' perspectives and enhancing their understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the transportation sector.

AAGBS, UiTM Researchers Begin Research Secondment at AGH University of Krakow, Poland

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Nur Arfah Mustapha and Dr. Zoel-Fazlee from have officially commenced their one-month research secondment at AGH University of Krakow under the Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchange “Overcoming the Digital Divide in Europe and South East Asia (ODDEA)” project.

Since their arrival, both researchers have actively immersed themselves in the university’s academic environment, participating in various institutional activities and engaging with scholars and students, including attending a recent student research conference.

As part of the ODDEA Project’s Work Package 4 (WP4), their research focuses on a qualitative investigation of digitalisation challenges faced by firms, industrial clusters, and individuals. Through this multi-level analysis, the study seeks to identify the socio-economic and structural factors that contribute to digital disparities across regions.

This secondment is being carried out in close collaboration with the host research team at AGH University, led by Dr. Joanna Duda and Dr. Rafal Kusa. The collaboration further strengthens research ties between European and Southeast Asian institutions while promoting knowledge exchange and international cooperation.

The findings from this research are expected to provide valuable insights into regional digitalisation trends and challenges. Ultimately, the project aims to support the development of evidence-based policy recommendations that can contribute to a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable digital future in both Europe and Southeast Asia.

We wish Dr. Nur Arfah and Dr. Zoel-Fazlee a productive and successful secondment and look forward to the outcomes of their research collaboration.

Strengthening research collaboration under the Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchanges project, ODDEA (Overcoming Digital Divide in Europe and Southeast Asia)

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azlina Hanif and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arlinah Abd Rashid from Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School, UiTM are currently undertaking their second research secondment at the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA), Slovakia, under Work Package 3.
Working closely with Prof. Dr. Anetta Caplánová, the researchers are advancing studies on the role of institutional quality and market structures in addressing digital divides across ASEAN.

Dr. Azlina Hanif is examining the institutional quality threshold at which digitalisation begins to effectively reduce the digital gap among ASEAN economies.

Dr. Arlinah Abd Rashid is investigating how institutional quality and market structures influence the digitalisation development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in ASEAN.

The secondment provides a valuable platform for collaborative research, knowledge exchange, and joint publications, contributing to evidence-based policy recommendations for more inclusive digital transformation in Southeast Asia.
