Project Abstract:
In fluctuating economy, renting item is crucial for a renter to rent item instead of buying brand new item that he or she may just it once and then the item will pile up in the store and collecting dusk. It is not only waste money but also wastes the storage space. With a rental, the renter can just rent the item to save money and space. Besides, rental also helps item owner to get some profit from the rental. The current approaches such as social network and paper advertisement were not very efficient for item owner to advertise the rental item. This caused lack of information for the renter to rent the item and difficult for the renter to find the rental item at Shah Alam. PeerGrab Mobile Application is a mobile application that helps the UiTM student and nearby residents to rent the rental items from their neighborhood. The implementation of Quick Response code, payment gateway API and mobile application development helps the system and renting process to be more efficient. The objectives of this project are identify the user requirement of PeerGrab Mobile Application, design the PeerGrab Mobile Application and develop the PeerGrab Mobile Application. In order to develop this proposed project, there were five stages involved including the introduction, literature review, methodology, analysis and discussion as well as a conclusion and future direction. The methodology used is Mobile Application Development Life Cycle (MADLC). This methodology consists of seven phases which are identification, design, development, prototyping, testing, deployment and maintenance. The requirements gathering lead into the designed and development of the mobile application. This application is able to help item owner to advertise and manage the rental item on a specific platform. Besides, this application also helped renter to get the information, rent the item and make a payment through the online payment gateway. User Acceptance Test (UAT) is conducted to get the degree of Perceived of Use. The UAT result for this application is very impressive. Some recommendations for future works were also discussed at the end of the project based on the limitation identified throughout the project to offer enhancement and improvement for the future.
