World Elephant Day was established on August 12, 2012, by Canadian filmmaker Patricia Sims and Thailand’s Elephant Reintroduction Foundation. Supported by William Shatner, who narrated the documentary 𝘙𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵, the day aims to raise global awareness about the challenges faced by elephants. Despite their beloved status and intelligence, elephants are endangered by various threats, highlighting the need for continued conservation efforts.
