The PIO International Festival or PIOfest is to celebrate the Arts and Traditions of the People of Indian Origin. The Festival is held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in April/May in conjunction with the Asian Traditional New Year, Chitthirai. PIO is People of Indian Origin living outside India. ation of these diverse sub-cultures and traditions spread all over the Indian civilisation and are several millennia old. Several elements of the diverse culture of the Indians have had a profound impact across the world. Spread by ancient scholars, traders, empires, colonialists and in recent years by the PIOs, the Indian culture is celebrated in many countries globally. The PIO International Festival (PIOfest) is a string of gala events to celebrate the arts and culture of the PIOs from around the world. This spectacular occurrence includes exhibitions, sporting events and cultural performances by PIO Communities from Malaysia and various countries across the globe. The events is held in suitable locations in Kuala Lumpur.
