It was a great opportunity to meet our leaders and teachers, and to better understand how we are preparing students for an AI-integrated world. At PORTMAN, we don’t just talk about AI — we teach students how to use it. Hari Raya at PORTMAN International School 🌙✨

A celebration beyond performance — a true cultural learning experience 🇲🇾

This Raya, our students didn’t just wear traditional outfits… they became young fashion designers 👗✨

Before the celebration, students explored the cultural meaning behind traditional Malay attire — understanding design elements, colour combinations, patterns, and the significance of each piece for both male and female outfits. From Baju Melayu to Baju Kurung, every detail became part of their learning journey.

They then stepped into the role of designers — planning, styling, and coordinating outfits for their classmates. Through this process, students developed their sense of aesthetics and strengthened their ability to express ideas through fashion and presentation 🎨

During the celebration, students confidently showcased their creations through:

With Hari Raya just around the corner, our students are proving that the best learning happens when we step beyond traditional boundaries!

Instead of simply reading about cultural traditions, we challenged our students to become modern digital creators by producing their own Hari Raya music videos. Blending cultural exploration with cutting-edge tech, they managed a complete AI workflow from start to finish. They brainstormed festive lyrics with ChatGPT, directed musical melodies using Suno AI, generated dynamic visual animations with Whisk AI and Grok, and finally brought all the magic together in CapCut.

This is what future-ready education looks like in action. PORTMAN students aren't just memorizing facts; they are mastering storytelling, critical thinking, and the digital creation tools of tomorrow. We are incredibly proud of their innovation and can’t wait to share their final masterpieces with you soon! 💚🌟
