𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 – 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟯: 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘆

20 August 2026 – The Putra Business School Student & Alumni Association (PSAA), led by Brad Soy Chee Chien, President of PSAA, successfully organised the third session of the Research Skills Series 2026 in collaboration with UPM Library.

The online session was presented by Puan Najah binti Mohd Ali, Pustakawan Kanan, Seksyen Literasi Maklumat, Bahagian Perkhidmatan dan Pendidikan Pengguna.

The session provided practical guidance on using Mendeley Reference Manager to manage references more efficiently throughout the research process. Participants learned how to:

- Add and organise references in Mendeley
- Annotate and manage research papers
- Insert citations and create bibliographies
- Find, import and access research papers
- Use Mendeley to support academic writing and research

The session equipped PBS students and alumni with useful skills to organise their references systematically, save time, and improve the efficiency of their academic research and writing.

𝗙𝗠𝗧: 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗸𝘆𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻

Following the passing of the Competition (Amendment) Bill 2026, which strengthens the Malaysia Competition Commission's (MyCC) role in tackling market dominance and cartel practices, economists weighed in on how stronger competition laws could benefit consumers through lower prices and more choices.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Razman Abdul Latiff, MBA Programme Director at Putra Business School, shared his perspective on FMT, noting that the benefits of open competition for SMEs depend on more than just market access, they also need support in financing, technology, talent, and open procurement. He added that the effectiveness of the amended law should be measured by whether repeat cartel and anti-competitive cases decline, not just by the fines imposed.

𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Putra Business School came together in celebration of Maulidur Rasul 2026 through a Maulidur Rasul Procession held on 21 August 2026 (Friday), themed "Meneladani Akhlak Rasulullah SAW: Membina Insan Berkualiti" (Emulating the Prophet's Character: Building Quality Individuals).

The PBS Staff gathered together in a spirit of unity and devotion, marching around the PBS premises in remembrance of the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

The esteemed Prof. Dr. Azmawani Abd Rahman, President & CEO of Putra Business School, reminded the PBS community of the significance of Maulidur Rasul as a moment of reflection on the life and character of Prophet Muhammad SAW, and encouraged staff to internalise his noble values of honesty, compassion, and excellence in their daily conduct at work and beyond.

May this celebration serve as a reminder to continue emulating the noble character of the Prophet SAW in daily life.

Orphanage Visit 2026

This year, the Putra Business School Student & Alumni Association (PSAA) is bringing together students, alumni, staff and friends to spread love, share joy and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children.

We will be visiting BRDB Rotary Children's Residence and Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera, reaching out to approximately 100 children.

17 August 2026 – The Putra Business School Student & Alumni Association (PSAA) successfully conducted Industrial Visit Series 12.0 to the Ministry of Economy, giving PBS students valuable insights into Malaysia’s socioeconomic development planning and policy-making.

The visit was led by Brad Soy Chee Chien, President of PSAA, and joined by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ida Md Yasin, PSAA Advisor.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Pn. Rosnita Binti Hamzah, Timbalan Pengarah, Bahagian Perancangan Strategik; Pn. Asmawati Binti Ali, Ketua Penolong Pengarah, Unit Perhubungan Strategik; and Pn. Athirah Khairiah Binti Khair Nasaruddin, Pegawai MySTEP, Bahagian Perancangan Strategik.
The session opened with remarks by Pn. Rosnita, followed by an insightful presentation by Pn. Asmawati covering the history, vision, mission and key functions of the Ministry of Economy, including Thirteenth Malaysia Plan (RMK13), 2026–2030, economic MADANI framework, socioeconomic planning, development resource allocation, policy implementation, coordination and monitoring.

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, allowing students to interact directly with the Ministry representatives. The delegation was also honoured to meet YB Tuan Haji Akmal Nasrullah bin Haji Mohd Nasir, Minister of Economy, followed by a memorable photo session.
