USTC Hosts "Research Grant Award Ceremony: Call-5, 2024"
Alhamdulillah! The University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) Research Cell organized the "Research Grant Award Ceremony: Call-5, 2024" on October 22, 2024, at the USTC campus. This prestigious event marks another step forward in advancing the university's research initiatives.
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Mohammad Sahabuddin, Director of the USTC Research Cell. Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Solaiman, USTC attended as the Chief Guest. Special Guests included USTC’s Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor M. Mohi Uddin, and Professor Dr. A.K.M. Saifuddin from Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. Professor Dr. Nurul Absar, Treasurer of USTC, was present as the Guest of Honor.
During the event, speakers emphasized the importance of research and innovation in fostering a knowledge-based society and enhancing the country's education system. They highlighted how USTC's ongoing research efforts contribute significantly to these goals. Additionally, they noted that research grants encourage students to engage in high-quality research, creating opportunities to contribute to international research standards.
This year, 27 researchers applied for the "Call-5, 2024" research grant, and 16 were selected for funding. Each project will also involve five students who will have the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from the research, gaining valuable knowledge and skills.
Respected deans, department heads, faculty members, and students were attended to this remarkable event. The speakers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the honorable chief patron and chairman board of trustee for his invaluable support and guideline, they were optimism that these research grants will further strengthen USTC's research capacity and improve the university's global ranking. By engaging students in research, they hope to prepare them to become global citizens, capable of excelling in their careers on an international stage.
At the conclusion of the event, the selected researchers received their research grant checks from the distinguished guests.

Alhamdulillah! successfully did a Webinar on “Financial Criminology and Fraud Detection: An Implications of Forensic Accounting” organized by the MBA students (Major in Finance), Department of Business Studies, State University of Bangladesh. The webinar was conducted by Mr. Mosttafa Sazzad Hasan, FCA, CPA, and PhD researcher in Forensic Accounting as a keynote speaker. He shared valuable insights on the subject matter of Forensic Accounting.
Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Honorable VC, State University of Bangladesh inaugurated this session as a chief guest. Prof. Dr. Shams delivered a welcome speech as a special guest and Dr. Mohammad Sahabuddin, Assistant Professor and MBA program coordinator voted thanks as a session chair. Ms Annat Islam, MBA (major in Finance), Final semester student, wonderfully moderated this session. Many thanks to all participants for joining and making this session successful.

Guidelines for submitting the abstract:
The abstract has to cover purpose, date and methodology, findings, research implications and originality. The maximum length of the abstract has to be 250 words.
Best Paper Award:
The seminar technical committee will select the best paper on the basis of the panel's recommendation and overall review feedback.
Publication Opportunities:
The abstract of all accepted and presented papers will be published in the seminar proceedings. However, selected full papers will be considered for publication in the special issue of USTC journal of Business after completing the review process of the journal.
Deadline of Abstract Submission: On or before October 26, 2023
Notification of Acceptance: October 28, 2023
