Just binge-watched Toxic Town on Netflix. Based on a true story about Corby in Northamptonshire. O M G! SUPERB series, INCREDIBLE cast, profoundly moving script writing… And I truly hope and pray that those characters with integrity that suffered so badly found their way back after this.
Please watch! DEEPLY moving. As a mother, as one who believes in justice prevailing….
I cannot say enough how superb the cast were. I was in tears multiple times at their heartrending situations, all so richly conveyed.

Please read below. My friend and former student Latifah Hamzah is running 35km tomorrow morning to raise money for Hospice Malaysia. Please contribute if you can!!

Flats has been running a number of marathons concurrently - only one of them has involved preparing for this in the early hours of the morning. Another has been fighting to get the motivation to get a thesis written up alongside developing the resources to handle the _multiple_ levels of challenge of dealing with mum and her illness.
In all the decades I have known them, Flats has been the most driven person I know, and pushed through some of the worst of set backs.
Please do support this, whether to reward Flats for getting through this intensely difficult episode, or for hospice for the incredibly selfless support they give.
Flats doesn’t ever blow their own trumpet and barely knows how to play the violin or piano so if all else fails to stir you, please donate out of empathy for their dearth of musicianship. 😂

Hi, some of you may know that my mother passed away a few weeks before our summer concert. Tomorrow, I'll be running the KL marathon in aid of Hospice Malaysia (because they helped my mum a lot towards the end, and are completely reliant on donations to run). BMA MIDSUMMER CONCERT: VOX SUARA
June 18th @ 8pm
Bentley Auditorium

Ahead of the two-and-a-half-year delayed Midsummer Concert, we'll be taking a closer look at the artists involved who are collaborating with the combined BMA ensembles.

As well as performing Mozart's Requiem, Vox Suara will be performing Sibelius' sublime, 'Be Still My Soul'.

BMA extends a huge thank you to all the members of Vox Suara for their sustained commitment ahead of this concert and, not least, to Julie Anderson, their director, who explains more...

VOX SUARA

"Vox Suara was formed according to our “3 Goods motto” - good people, good music, good vibes. We are a community choir with a strong core of committed and enthusiastic singers, who began singing together in 2019, and after a brief and energetic burst of activity were straitjacketed by the pandemic, just before our second big collaboration with the BMA ensembles.

"An eclectic group of individuals from very diverse backgrounds, we boast (among many other worthy individuals), music professionals, a doctor, a lawyer, an engineer, a business coach, a tax inspector, and various educators including a PE instructor for disabled children.

"What unites us is the thrill of music-making and the opportunity to sing together, so we are delighted to have been able to pick up the pieces after 2 long years to bring the magnificent Mozart’s Requiem to life.

"This has been an intense and satisfying project, and we cannot wait to perform for you with the BMA ensembles and Ottophony after months of preparation.

"Please enjoy our resurgence to live music, and let yourself be inspired by the genius of Mozart."

Look out for the Singaporean male voice choir, Voce. I had the privilege to hear their performance today at the Russian Cultural Centre. What a wonderful, warm tone, what superb ex*****on! My deepest respect for the young, talented and inappropriately modest Darius Lim. Their opening processional to the plainchant, leading into Dominus Vobiscum by Jacob Narveyrud literally brought tears to my eyes.
WELL DONE VOCE! I can't wait to hear your next performance!
