Padma Nrithyalaya Arts (Malaysia) founded by Smt. Vinosree Shangkar . Padma Nrithyalaya Arts was established in 1998 by Smt. Smt.

Vinosree Shangkar, a disciple of the world renowned dancer, Padmabushan Dr.Padma Subrahmanyam. Vinosree Shangkar who hails from Chennai, India holds a Bachelor degree in English Literature and Masters degree in Bharathanatyam. She has conducted lecture Demonstration and workshops in Natya Shastra. She has also choreographed for many dance productions and has been the Artistic Director for leading

institutions in Malaysia and Singapore. The institution has participated in many international Conferences, coordinates and organizes International Dance and Music Festivals in Malaysia and abroad which also includes world renowned Artists and Scholars. The Students of Padma Nrithyalaya Arts have performed extensively all over Malaysia and in many countries like India, Singapore, Switzerland, Srilanka, Mauritious, and South Africa. Currently based in Seremban the institution has its branches in Klang & Petaling Jaya to establish and promote the Bharatha Nrityam style of Padmabhushan Dr. Padma Subhramanyam which is based on Natya Shastra.

On 7 Feb 2026, Padma Nrithalaya students stood among 800 performers at MIECC for Selamat Datang Modi Ji — a historic Indian community event welcoming Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Malaysia.

They performed Swagatham, contributing to a Malaysia Book of Records achievement
for the Most Performers in Indian Traditional Dance.

Our Guru, Smt. Vinosree Shangkar, served on the Core Coordinating Committee for Swagatham , recognised by the Indian Cultural Centre (NSCBICC) & High Commission of India, Malaysia for her leadership in bringing this vision to life.

This wasn’t just a performance.
It was a moment of pride, culture, and history — created together. 🙏
