The Sacrifice of Being Left Alone : The Legacy of Hajar in the Days of Zuhijjah.

There is a kind of loneliness many people carry quietly.

The kind where you keep going, even when youโ€™re tired.
Where you show up for others, even when youโ€™re struggling yourself.
Where you smile on the outside, while your mind is full of worries no one sees.

And this is why the story of Hajar (ุนู„ูŠู‡ุง ุงู„ุณู„ุงู…) speaks to so many of us.

Left in a barren desert with her child, no resources, no certaintyโ€”only trust in Allah.

When she asked if it was Allahโ€™s command, and was told yes, she didnโ€™t panic.

She said: โ€œThen Allah will not abandon us.โ€

That level of tawakkul is something we are all striving toward.

Today, millions walk between Safa and Marwah because of her struggle.
Her effort became worship.
Her hardship became legacy.

A reminder for all of us:

Sometimes there is running before relief.
Sometimes there is uncertainty before clarity.
Sometimes there is loneliness before Allah opens doors we never imagined.

But Allah never abandons those who rely on Him.

Whatever youโ€™re carrying right nowโ€”
stress, uncertainty, responsibilities, silent battlesโ€”

Allah sees it. Allah knows it.

And just like Zamzam came from a place no one could have expected,
ease can come into your life in ways you cannot yet see.

These days of Zulhijjah are a chance to reconnect:

โ€ข Speak to Allah honestly
โ€ข Hold onto tawakkul
โ€ข Keep going, even if itโ€™s one small step at a time

Your effort matters. Even when no one notices.

Sometimes, your โ€œSafa and Marwahโ€ is simply not giving up.

Dua for today:
โ€œYa Allah, just as You never abandoned Hajar, do not abandon us in the difficult moments of our lives. Grant us strength, patience, and hearts that trust You fully.โ€

A table full of food, laughter, and people who make it all worthwhile.

As we marked the final day of Syawal, we had the opportunity to organise a potluck together, and it was truly a joyful one. It was a lovely way to close the festive season with warmth, connection, and plenty of good food.
