Letter to Parents
Dear Parents,
Hello! I would like to share some thoughts about music learning pathway .Many parents bring their children here to learn music because the kids told you that “i am interest to play piano and I love music.”
Yes I also believe interest is the foundation for learning. For me,I began learning the piano at the age of seven and my mother enquiry the piano class near by my house and start music journey until now. However, as I grew older, I gradually realized that interest cannot solve all the challenges in music .Due to 90’s, music classes were conduct in group lessons, and teachers were often too busy to give each child the attention they needed.
In Malaysia, music classes are not main subject at school only those students who wish to pursue a professional path will deeper into music theory and technique. Faced with young children, really they can insist the learning journey without any support and encouragement ?
I believe that the relationship between parents, teachers, and students is not isolated but requires close connections. And for the journey of learning music occurs misunderstandings and conflicts due to a lack of understanding and communication. The establishment of De sound academy is not just about providing courses; we aim to be the connecting point in this triangular relationship through the activity or music concert.
For music students, they may just need some guidance to recognize themselves. I believe every child is malleable. It’s not that they can’t; rather, we need to work together to find the direction to fulfill their potential.I fully understand the challenges of learning music, and as a teacher, I strive to help parents gain more insights into music education. Liking music doesn‘t necessarily mean one has to perform; it can be expressed in many ways. Whether behind the scenes or in the spotlight, sharing music knowledge, singing to express feelings, or pursuing a professional path, every step begins with that initial interest and perseverance.
Hope to see you in this coming April (Parent-day)
