Trained biotechnology degree students can explore a plethora of opportunities not only in research but also in academics not in tertiary but in secondary education. Cikgu Fazli Dollah Fazlie Biosensei is one of the best examples from a biotech degree to a science teacher and a science based content creator.

He was our Biotech Alumni batch 2000-2003. He pursued teaching after graduating from his Biotech degree program due to his passion in teaching. He is currently a successful teacher and involved in preparing digital content in science subjects and won numerous awards for his talent. The video is a montage for an icon teacher award for this year.

Congratulations to Prof Hidayah Ariffin and team as their research product i.e. oil palm biomass nanocellulose commercialized by ZoepNano Sdn. Bhd. Malaysia is highlighted in the National Advanced Materials Technology Roadmap launched by YB Minister of MOSTI today 😊 (chapter 2 pg 10; chapter 3 pg 44).

We also would like to congratulate the CEO of ZoepNano, Dr Liana Noor Megashah who is also our UPM BioTech alumni (PhD class of 2021) whom manage the company's overall operations.

BioTech UPM’s Master of Science in Biotechnology with Bioentrepreneurship programme kicked off with its pioneer batch of students in July this year. This 1 year, coursework-based programme offers graduate students an integrated management and life science curriculum to prepare our undergraduate for today’s competitive biotechnology sector. In these pics, students are seen having their practical sessions at Shimadzu Malaysia! Thanks Shimadzu Malaysia!

SPM results are out! Many of our young generation are starting to look for courses to enroll in. Some might want to enroll in Biotechnology but do not know much about it. So what is biotechnology?

Biotechnology is the integration of natural sciences and engineering sciences in order to enhance the characteristics of organisms such as plants, animals, microbes, fungi and microbes. This enhancement will be able to produce high value added products for human consumption. Biotechnology has the capability to make all our life easier. Don't you want to be part of this?

In the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, UPM we offer four graduate programs to STPM, Matriculation / Science Foundation and Diploma students.
The programs offered are as follows:
Bachelor of Science Biotechnology with Honours
Bachelor of Science Biochemistry with Honours
Bachelor of Science Microbiology with Honours
Bachelor of Science Cell & Molecular Biology with Honours
