When Allah is Watching: Rethinking Our Social Media Habits

Alhamdulillah, we share a clip from the session by Sheikh Mohammad Al-Naqwi for the first key point:

Muraqabah — that deep awareness that Allah is always watching over us, even in what we type, share, and respond to online.

When we truly realise that Allah is watching, even the smallest actions begin to carry meaning and weight. It quietly shapes how we behave, even in the digital space.

May this reminder help us become more mindful, and uphold adab in every interaction.

Alhamdulillah, successfully completed PEERS ToT Series II: Young Advocacy Program with MIASA Malaysia ✨

This marks our second series following last week’s session, with a stronger focus on upskilling peer support and equipping students to better assist friends who may be facing personal challenges. Throughout the program, participants gained valuable insights, especially on understanding dysfunction disorders and practical ways to manage them.

We also explored the impact of stigma and discrimination, and how these issues can significantly affect an individual’s mental health. Creating awareness and empathy remains a crucial step in building a supportive community.

Another key highlight was strengthening peer support skills — learning how to become better PEERS by being present, listening actively, and offering meaningful support to those in need.

A special thank you to Pn Anita Abu Bakar, Founder & President of MIASA Malaysia, for taking the time to personally share such insightful and impactful knowledge with KMSS PEERS. Your presence truly made a difference.

Here’s to building a more compassionate and supportive environment, one peer at a time 🤍

Alhamdulillah, KMSS was honoured to host a meaningful sharing session by Sheikh Mohammad AlNaqwi, who brought forward an insightful Islamic perspective on how we navigate our behaviour in the digital world.

The session was made possible through the efforts of Hamzah, an alumnus of KMSS, who played a key role in bringing the Sheikh to share with us. May Allah reward him for facilitating this beneficial gathering.

Drawing from over 15 years of experience in da’wah, the Sheikh reminded us that social media is more than just a space for expression—it is an amanah. Every post, comment, and interaction reflects our values and accountability as Muslims.

Through a simple yet powerful sharing, he highlighted several guiding principles for navigating social media with iman and adab:

1. Muraqabah – Always be conscious that Allah is watching

2. Ghaddul Basar – Guard the eyes; avoid what does not concern you

3. Al-Amanah & Tabayyun – Be truthful and verify before sharing

4. Munkar & Adab – Respond wisely; “Qul khairan aw liyasmut” (speak good or remain silent)

5. Time Awareness – What is gone will not return; do not waste time on the unnecessary

6. Be Beneficial – Use platforms to spread al-khayr and bring benefit to others

His relatable and practical approach, especially in addressing youth, made the session engaging and deeply impactful.

May Allah guide us to use every platform with responsibility, uphold adab in every interaction, and turn our online spaces into sources of benefit.
Jazakumullahu khairan for the visit and the valuable reminders. May it continue to benefit many.

During our live session on Facebook from Anjung KLIA Sepang as part of the Media and Photography Club activity, we received a heartfelt comment from a mother of a former KMSS student.

Alhamdulillah, she shared that her child began to develop an interest in photography after being part of the club at KMSS. This meaningful feedback is truly appreciated and reflects the impact of our teachers and coaches in nurturing students’ talents.

We pray that the student continues to grow, excel, and achieve even greater success in the future. May every small effort continue to create lasting impact in shaping a generation that is skilled, confident, and able to contribute positively to society.

Alhamdulillah, yesterday, the Media and Photography Club of Sekolah Khalifah had the opportunity to visit Anjung Spotter at KLIA Sepang to capture photos of aircraft in action.

Under the guidance of Ustaz Afif, students were able to apply photography techniques in real-life settings from composition to perfect timing in getting the best shots of the planes.

It was not only an exciting experience, but also a meaningful one that broadened their perspective on real-world photography. May this be a stepping stone in developing their passion and skills further.

Alhamdulillah, the Training of Trainers 1 (ToT): Peers KMSS x PRS SMK Cyberjaya was successfully conducted.

This program strengthened our understanding of the core values of Peers KMSS — listen, empathy, and support — through observation, knowledge-sharing sessions, and interactive activities.

Sincere appreciation to the counsellors and PRS from SMK Cyberjaya for the meaningful collaboration and warm hospitality. May this partnership continue to strengthen student mental health support systems.

“With the world so widespread and secretive in its evil, will I ever be able to see a sky this blue and beautiful in 30 years?”

This is a question, from a list of many more questions, that a student asked upon observing the sky.

Today I did an activity that I always do with every batch of students that I teach: observing and asking question. The students were asked to observe the sky and think of five questions related to the sky. Afterwards, each student shared their list of questions. And then this question came:

“With the world so widespread and secretive in its evil, will I ever be able to see a sky this blue and beautiful in 30 years?”

The sky was indeed blue this morning. The sun was shining brilliantly and the clouds were sparse. Amid the bright sun, we could see the clear, blue sky. But the sky isn’t always this blue. Remember the severe haze we had several years ago? Or how the sky became black with smoke from eksplosions in the land of Isra’ and, more recently, in the gulf?

In this time and age, the blue sky is a luxury that not everyone could afford, even when it’s out there, for free. It’s a gift not everyone appreciates. It’s an embrace of mercy not everyone realises.

Have you looked at the sky today? What did your heart see?

Alhamdulillah, the results of the MSSD Badminton Tournament this year show a very encouraging improvement compared to last year.

Every match was not merely about winning or losing, but was filled with a high fighting spirit, no more easy defeats, as every game was a hard-fought battle reaching double-digit scores.

Even more proudly, while last year only one pair reached the highest round, this year it increased to two pairs and one singles player (U15L Singles), (U18L Doubles), and (U15P Doubles), all of whom advanced to the third round.

Their journey ended upon facing seeded players, but the performances displayed clearly show strong potential to progress further to the quarterfinals in the future.

This is not just an achievement, but a reflection of growth, courage, and a maturing fighting spirit, a performance that truly deserves to be celebrated by the whole team.
———
