Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to Xiamen University Malaysia Library The total physical collections have been over 4.82 million item/volumes.

Xiamen University (XMU) Library has a long history as the same as the university, starting from 1921. With the effort of many generations of our staff, XMU Library has a total of 9.25 million items equivalent by the end of 2014. It also includes 4.43 million items equivalent e-books & e-journals, and more than 100 online databases. It is ranked among the first rate collection libraries in China. T

he collections of XMU Library cover broad subjects, including Philosophy, Management, Politics, Law, Economics, Linguistics, History, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Oceanography, Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, and Computer Science. It has a special advantage in Southeast Asia and Taiwan research information construction. XMU library is a State Key Protection Unit of ancient books, having a large number of ancient thread-bound books, CDs, audio (as), miniature flat pieces and resources. Up to now, XMU Library system consists of Main library that has total floor area of 26,000 square meters, 3 subject branch libraries (Law library, Economy & Management library, East Campus library), Zhangzhou Campus library and Xiang’an Campus library. The document and service sharing system at XMU Library was fulfilled via high speed internet connections between each branch library and main library. Beyond that, it offers information resource unified configuration, opening to all staff, faculty and students, paper items borrowing and reading, self-service printing, multimedia center, reference consulting, interlibrary loan & document delivery services（ILL&DDS）, subject service, science and technology novelty consulting and lectures, exhibition, internet resource service. XMU Library is undergoing the transformation from a school library to a communal library, from domestic to international, based on its rapid developing network service and the cooperation with other universities and areas. Library currently establishes Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery Services（ILL&DDS）and publication exchange relationship with over 200 university libraries from 15 countries and regions. It has a workstation for sci-tech novelty consulting which was set up by Chinese Ministry of Education. As its rich literature resources, excellent learning environment and high quality and efficient services, XMU Library is becoming a vital important infrastructure for teaching and academic research.
