Our educational visit to Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands last month led by Mr Bala and the Science Department, was a truly enriching experience for our students whose main aim was to enhance their environmental knowledge. The visit offered the perfect balance of learning and recreation; building stronger friendships while nurturing environmental awareness.

The highlight of the trip was, of course, the tree planting activity! Students received hands-on experience in conservation while learning why preserving green spaces and biodiversity matters for future generations. Team challenges also pushed them to think on their feet, collaborate, and lead. It was inspiring to see their resilience, cooperation, and problem-solving in action.

Besides tree planting, the hippotamus and crocodile feeding sessions were a huge hit! Students observed wildlife up close (including snakes, lizards, birds and others), discovering fascinating facts about animal behaviour, habitats, and the importance of conservation.

At , excellence isn't confined to the classroom. It also lives on stage, in ensembles, and in the willingness to try something new.

Clarisse (Year 7, piano), Eunice (Year 9, bass guitar), and Tiffany (Year 10, piano) represented CCIS at Jazz Day in Kuala Lumpur recently. None had prior jazz experience. All three embraced the challenge with the same discipline they bring to their academics.

What they experienced:
- Specialist-led jazz workshops from international school educators
- Small ensemble rehearsals with 23 students from various international schools
- A full-group jam session demanding quick thinking and musical responsiveness

What they learned:
- Improvisation as a skill - listening, adapting, and creating in real time
- That structure and freedom can coexist, much like the harmony between rigorous study and vibrant community life at Concord
- Confidence born from stepping outside comfort zones while supported by strong pastoral care

Through this experience, they embodied Rigour, Kindness, and Creativity, mastering new techniques, collaborating across schools, and finding their own voice within every note.

Well done, Clarisse, Eunice, and Tiffany. You’ve demonstrated academic excellence, personal growth, and the courage to begin.

19 students from the Concord Primary Choir joined the 4th Annual Big Sing in KL, alongside 16 other international schools and over 300 participants in total. Months ago, our talented singers began learning and memorizing the chosen repertoire and last month, their hard work took centre stage!

Our Concord Primary Choir also shone in a special solo performance led by Concord's Head of Music, Ms. Ujhazy, earning enthusiastic applause and amazing feedback after the show. CCIS' resident bassist and EAL teacher, Ms Kim also accompanied the team to the event.

Bravo, Concordians!

Yesterday, CCIS Volleyball and Soccer teams headed to Putrajaya for friendly matches focused on sharpening their competitive edge and game strategy.

Our soccer team clinched a thrilling 3–2 win with a stoppage-time goal and a hat trick by Anzar! Meanwhile, our volleyball team put up a strong game against their opponents.

Fixtures like these help a developing competitive sports team build resilience under pressure, learn to execute strategies in real-game situations, and grow stronger through every match experience.

Our Primary School Parent Reading Session brought families right into the heart of our classrooms. Parents shared beloved stories with our students and created a moment of connection.

This is in action: joining us in the joy of learning, celebrating diversity through stories, and showing our children that reading together builds more than skills - it builds a community.

Our students absolutely love these sessions (and honestly, so do we).

Concord College International School would like to thank the Friends of Concord for their consistent support in the classroom and all parents who took part. You're making a shared adventure.

Last Thursday, three of our Year 6 students headed to Petaling Jaya for a science competition. Their mission? Build a bridge using only lollipop sticks and glue, and make it hold as much weight as possible.

Through teamwork and problem-solving (and a few unexpected twists!), Ashton, Otoha, and Yan Tong designed a lattice-layered structure that held an incredible 23kg+.

Huge congratulations on your achievement!
