Our department was pleased to engage with students at Sri Sempurna International School through a talk on climate change by Professor Ir. Dr. Dominic Foo.

The session was followed by a hands-on P-graph workshop, where students explored how engineering tools can be used to compare the cost and sustainability of different travel options and make more informed decisions.

It was inspiring to see students apply engineering concepts to everyday sustainability challenges!

We were delighted to welcome students and teachers from SMJK Yok Bin, Melaka and Tenby Schools Setia EcoGarden, Johor Bahru to the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering on 27 and 29 June, respectively.

Through exciting chemical demonstrations, our visitors explored how reaction rates influence the 4Ss of chemical engineering: Speed, Safety, Solution, and Savings, and discovered how chemical engineers transform raw materials into the products that power modern life.

A special highlight was the reunion between our Year 4 MEng Chemical Engineering student, Ryan Soh, and his former teachers from SMJK Yok Bin. Ryan also shared his university journey with his juniors, inspiring them to explore the exciting opportunities in chemical engineering.

Thank you to both schools for visiting us! We look forward to welcoming more future engineers to our department!
