Ever wonder what happens before water reaches your tap? πŸš°πŸ€”

We got the full behind-the-scenes tour at the Sg. Labu Treatment Plant earlier this month!.

It was fascinating to see the scale of the operationβ€”from the massive reservoirs to the detailed filtration processes that ensure clean water for the community.

Big thanks to the plant team for having us and showing us the real-world application of water engineering. πŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈπŸ’§

Sensing the future of infrastructure! πŸ“‘πŸ—οΈ

We recently had the honor of hosting Professor Khu Soon Thiam, Chair Professor at Sun Yet-sen University, China, for a fascinating technical talk on Ubiquitous Sensing in Sciences and Engineering.

The session went beyond the basics, exploring how sensor technologies are evolving to transform how we manage water, infrastructure, and urban environments. It was an eye-opening look at the real-world innovations shaping our field.

A sincere thank you to Prof. Khu for his time and to the IAHR Malaysia Chapter for collaborating with us on this event.

From the future of energy to the lessons of the past. πŸ“‰πŸ—οΈ

We recently had the privilege of hosting Prof. Shahir Liew for two distinct and incredibly insightful technical talks.

In our first session, we explored the critical importance of Energy Transition & Decarbonisation, unpacking the innovation driving the energy sector. We then shifted gears for a deep-dive investigation into the Menara UMNO Fin Wall Collapse, utilizing advanced engineering analysis to understand this major case study.

A huge thank you to Prof. Shahir for sharing his expertise across such a wide spectrum of engineering challenges, and to everyone who attended!

Making waves at Semenyih Ecoventure! 🌊✨

We had an incredible time at Water Awareness Day on November 30th. It was a hands-on experience with eight dynamic modules designed to challenge our understanding of water.

From testing water quality to discussing global resource management, we dove deep into what it takes to protect our most vital resource.

Thanks to everyone who jumped in and participated! πŸ’§

Fresh air, fresh milk, and fresh perspectives! πŸ₯›βœ¨

We had a great time at the Farm Fresh UPM site visit on the 28th. πŸ—“οΈ It wasn't just about the cows (though they were cute!); we learned a lot about animal welfare and the engineering behind sustainable food production.

Thanks to everyone who tagged along and to WEST for leading the way!

From the mangroves to the paddy fields! 🌿🌾

Throwback to our Site Visit on "Carbon, Forestry, and Sustainable Agriculture". We spent the day exploring the diverse landscapes of Kuala Selangor and Sekinchan.

It was an eye-opening experience visiting the Kuala Selangor Nature Park to understand the critical role mangroves play in our water systems and environment. We also got a firsthand look at rice paddy agriculture in Sekinchan, learning about the history of the area and the vital role of water management.

A great day of learning and exploring with everyone! πŸ“Έ

Building bridges and securing futures! πŸŒ‰βœ¨ That’s a wrap on the DCE 25/26 Networking Event!

We were thrilled to collaborate on this initiative and see the UNM Student Lounge buzzing with energy. It was inspiring to watch so many future engineers engaging with the 15 participating companies, seeking professional advice, and hunting for those internship spots. 🀝

A massive shoutout to our friends at IEM Students' Section for taking the lead and spear-heading such a successful event. It was a pleasure working alongside you and the other student chapters to make this happen!

Thank you to all the industry partners who took the time to mentor our students, and to our generous sponsorsβ€”Hydro Nusantara, Mama's Delights, and Spring Freshβ€”for your support.

To everyone who attended: we hope you walked away with new connections and fresh opportunities! πŸš€
