1st Gene Detective workshop of 2026 !
Yesterday we have a fruitful sessions at SMK Seri Gombak! We hope to inspire future young scientist and STEM enthusiast !

We had a wonderful and exciting workshops with students from Negeri Sembilan at our campus!

Our joint collaboration to organise the STEM STREET : BioSTEM Quest 2025 together with Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Sembilan has brought together students and teachers from 15 schools. We have the privilege to run the students workshops and the train the trainer workshop for teachers on Gene Detective.

Both students and teachers were excited that they succesfully extracted DNA from banana using common kitchen items!

I wish these bright young minds will be inspired to be the future engineers, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, scientists of Malaysia!

We have the opportunity to present our work with Gene Detective toolkit and our workshops at the The International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology IUBMB Education Symposium today at M World Hotel PJ.

Great time to engage with the public, especially students on DNA! We have official from Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Sembilan and PPD Jempol.

Day 5 and last day of our Jelajah STEM Sarawak, last stop in Lawas for the Gene Detective STEM workshop for students and train the trainers for teachers at SMK Trusan.

It has been a tiring but fruitful trip. Many thanks to Lawas for the arrangement and the teachers at SMK Trusan.

Today we are at SMK Kubong Limbang for the Gene Detective workshop with students and train the trainers for teachers. A big thank you to Pkp Ppd Limbang for the great hospitality.

Our first ever Train the Trainer for Gene Detective e-learning toolkit at SMK Chung Hua Miri. Many thanks for the host school principal Madam Lai, co-organiser Madam Wong to make this a successful session.

We hope more Sarawakian students will benefit from our STEM initiatives. Many thanks to MEITD Sarawak for the small grant to make this come to pass.

Our School of Pharmacy STEM education team from University of Nottingham in partnership with MEITD Sarawak will be organising a series of STEM workshop for students and teachers in Miri from 11-12 August 2025. One of the secondary school has suddenly dropped out this programme, so I would to ask the public in Miri if any private secondary school is interested to take up the slot on 11 Aug (Mon) morning for the "Gene Detective" STEM workshop for Form 3 students and the train the trainers programme for science teachers in the afternoon ? Managed to complete the entire 4 capsule of the Gene Detective Workshop with YTAR CTG camp participants who picked Pharmacy and Biomedical Science. Not many select this track but we have a fun time learning about DNA, genes and PCR! Hope this will inspire future healthcare professionals !
