Meet Our Guest Conductor from Taxes, USA – John Lah Boh Yong (鄢礼宝)

John Lah Boh Yong began learning the violin at the age of seven and has dedicated his life to music ever since. He studied String Performance in Oklahoma, USA, followed by a Master’s degree in Composition in Minnesota.

Throughout his distinguished career, John has taught at numerous higher education institutions in Malaysia before furthering his studies in Music Education at the University of Florida. Since 2003, he has served as Orchestra Director with the Goose Creek Consolidated School District in Baytown, Texas.

A respected conductor, composer, and arranger, John represented Malaysia at the Contemporary Music Festival in Seoul in 1994. He continues to inspire young musicians by organizing string camps, seminars, concerts, and workshops, while composing and arranging music for orchestras worldwide.

Vision School Strings Club is more than a music group- it's a community where students learn, grow, and inspire one another.
We are proud to work with Vision School to give students the chance to experience the joy of music and build valuable life skills through string ensemble training.
Our members are energetic, enthusiastic, and always ready for new challenges. Their passion for music drive to improve and never give-up spirit. Each rehearsals and performance helps them become stronger musicians and confident individuals.

A heartfelt thank you to the school for continued support and commitment to arts education. Together, we are nuturing young musicians while also building resilience, teamwork, discipline and lifelong love for music.
